RACE 1: MAIDEN PLATE 850 Metres
The start of this event was delayed approx. 5 minutes to allow a technical issue with recording gear to be rectified.
MANNY SUGGESTIONS – began awkwardly, shifted out and contacted another runner.
APPLE TREE CREEK – slow to begin.
SPEDELLA – hung out from rounding the hometurn until the finish line.
HAZZEL MONIQUE – raced wide for majority.
VICTORIA’S AMULET – slow to begin.
RACE 2: BENCHMARK 65 HDCP 1090 Metres
KBENGAL – began awkwardly.
OUTBACK LIGHTNING – wide throughout.
WILLYWYNYA – app J King pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 137A(3) for excessive use of whip in backhand manner and fined $100.
HONOUR JACKO – bumped shortly after the start.
DUAN THEO – shifted in shortly after the start and bumped another runner. Over raced between runners for short distance rounding the 800 metre turn.
COLD COLLECT – On arrival on course trainer reported mare was fractious when being transported to the track. Subsequently examined by club Vet and cleared to start.
ZIP ZIP GIRL – began awkwardly.
DAILY PLANET – raced wide throughout.
ACRAIGLEA DANSaL – post race examination of the filly which tired to be beaten 48 lengths revealed no abnormality. Trainer Ms N Mulcahy indicated it was her intention to recommend the filly be retired from racing, however stewards advised CRAIGLEA DANSAL would be required to trial prior to its next race start should these circumstances change. Slow to begin, commenced to hang out rounding first turn and continued to do so for the remainder of the event.
RACE 3: OPEN HDCP1212 Metres
SCHOORWIN – Knuckled on jumping and lost ground.
BLAZE TO FORTUNE – rider reported at scale unable to go fast early pace but found the line well.
EL SUPREMO – Raced wide for majority. Shifted in under pressure approaching 100 metres obliging rider to stop riding and straighten.
MONTANUS – raced wide throughout.
JUST AS SWEET – raced wide throughout.
RACE 4: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1212 Metres
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH – raced wide throughout. Near 50 metres rider accidently dropped near side rein and became unbalanced for a short distance.
PAGOH – raced wide with cover for majority of race.
BACKSTREET JACK – rider reprimanded failing to weigh in on 5th placegetter when required to do so AR144.
FUNNY FELLOW – hampered and obliged to steady near 300 metres.
WICKENBY – rider reprimanded for carelessness under AR137(a) for allowing mount to shift out near 300 metres and hamper another runner.
NAVY CHIC – raced wide throughout.
WAY UP THERE – rider reported at scale the mare resented sand kickback when racing behind runners but found the line when placed in clear running.
RACE 5: CLASS B HDCP 1380 Metres
EXSTRATUM – raced wide throughout.
EPIC MISS – Correct weight delayed to allow rider to view photo finish image for first. After viewing image correct weight declared on numbers as semaphored by the judge. Unable to muster speed in early stages of event despite the efforts of its rider.
KOOL HEAVEN – Warning placed on geldings pre-race manners after broke away from attendant on 2 occasions in the mounting yard. On arrival at barriers examined by club Vet and cleared to start.
LUV HUNTER – a short distance after the start and for some considerable distance until near the 900 metres attempted to buck and lost significant ground. After taking into account the horse’s poor record where it displayed similar traits at the SCTC meeting on 4/10/14 and the SCTC meeting on 11/1/15, and evidence from rider app N Summers, trainer and part-owner Mr M Bailey and part-owner Mrs L Bailey, connections advised it was their intention to immediately retire the gelding from racing. Stewards however advised that were these plans to alter, the nomination for LUV HUNTER would be refused until an application is made to the Chairman of Stewards of the Principal Racing Authority to lift this embargo. App N Summers reprimanded under AR144 for failing to weigh in for 5th when required to do so.
