TUESDAY 4th NOVEMBER 2025
WEATHER – Overcast TRACK RATING – Sand (Good) RAIL – True
OFFICIALS
Stewards – A. Schofield (chair), O. Legg, C. Myers (scales)
GENERAL
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer T. Thomas regarding the failure to scratch dual acceptor LATE NIGHT DEVIL by the prescribed time.
Stewards allowed the following overweight:
Race 5. C. Taylor +1kg
Race 1: BUNDY STAR TRUCKS MAIDEN PLATE 850 Metres
WILD DUST – Very slow to begin. Jockey R. Payne reported that the gelding resented the sand kickback after being slow to begin and she had recommended to trainer A. Wilson to not race WILD DUST on sand tracks in future.
BUBBLY MOON – Slow into stride.
DREAMDROP – Raced wide throughout.
Race 2: SADDLEWORLD BUNDABERG BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 850 Metres
Correct weight was delayed to allow rider R. Payne (PINK SOLITAIRE) to view the Stewards patrol footage of the start and to make application for the gelding to be declared a non-runner. After taking evidence from rider R. Payne and starter B. Steindl, Stewards declared PINK SOLITAIRE a runner after it was established that the gelding became momentarily fractious in the barriers prior to the start, turning its head into the adjoining barrier partition as the start was effected causing PINK SOLITAIRE to miss the start by a considerable margin. As the barrier manners of the gelding were the primary cause of PINK SOLITAIRE missing the start, the gelding was declared a runner and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers. Trainer A. Wilson was advised that a warning will be placed against PINK SOLITAIRE for its barrier manners.
KING OF THE VIBE – Declared a late scratching at 1.40pm when the gelding presented to the mounting enclosure without race plates. Trainer’s representative for the S. Elix stable was fined $400 pursuant to AR107(1)(2). Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on KING OF THE VIBE be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st STELLA BOO 19c win, 16c place
2nd AMPHAWA 16c place
3rd FRENCH WISH 16c place
DENMAN AVENUE – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground.
STELLA BOO – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the first occasion. Trainer K. Miller was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
DAINTREE DREAMING – Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey C. Taylor reported that he contacted his right foot on leaving the barriers.
FRENCH WISH – Raced wide throughout.
Race 3: MI SIGNWORX COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1090 Metres
Correct weight was delayed to allow connections of second placegetter (HURRICANE HALL) to lodge an objection against first placegetter BUNGARRIBEE LAD, alleging interference shortly after jumping. After taking evidence from connections and viewing the patrol footage, it was established that on jumping away, HOLIDAY DREAMS shifted out, causing BUNGARRIBBE LAD to shift out abruptly, hampering HURRICANE HALL. Further, HURRICANE HALL was then heavily bumped on the hindquarters by FROSTY BEAR, losing further ground. Given the proximity of the interference to the start of the race, and the fact that the sole cause of interference could not be attributed to BUNGARRIBEE LAD due to HOLIDAY DREAMS also shifting out and contributing to the incident, Stewards could not be satisfied that HURRICANE HALL would have finished ahead of BUNGARRIBEE LAD and dismissed the objection declaring correct weight on the judges’ numbers.
HOLIDAY DREAMS – Steadied from heels and raced in restricted room approaching the 100m when BUNGARRIBEE LAD (apprentice B. Johnson) shifted in and DARE TO SHARE (apprentice S. Bailey) shifted out. Both apprentice Johnson and apprentice Bailey were advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
FLYING RUPERT – Raced keenly in the early stages.
BUNGARRIBEE LAD – Hampered on jumping when HOLIDAY DREAMS shifted out, causing the gelding to shift out abruptly further hampering HURRICANE HALL. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
FROSTY BEAR – Heavily bumped with HURRICANE HALL shortly after jumping. Raced four wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
HURRICANE HALL – Hampered on jumping when BUNGARRIBEE LAD shifted out, lost ground then heavily bumped on the hindquarters by FROSTY BEAR.
