RACE 4: 3:00PM GET YOURSELF CHECKED Maiden Plate (1212 METRES)

Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to consider a protest lodged by connections of second placed DAIQUIRI HILL against the winner, THE FRUITOLOGIST, alleging interference over the final 100m. After considering the submissions of all parties, viewing the available replays it was established that entering the home straight THE FRUITOLOGIST commenced to gradually shift outwards whilst at the same time DAIQUIRI HILL commenced to lay out of its own accord, resulting in both runners gradually shifting wider on the track. Near the 50m both runners brushed marginally and despite this incident, stewards could not be satisfied that any interference caused to too DAIQUIRI HILL would warrant changing the placings and therefore the protest was dismissed.
