GENERAL
On arrival at Bedourie Racecourse today, Stewards conducted a track inspection at 9am resulting in some concerns regarding the firmness of the racing surface presented for today’s race meeting. After speaking with the Club President about the concerns Stewards had with the state of the track regarding the safety and welfare of the horses and jockeys competing at the meeting, the club expressed that there were no remedial works that could be done to the track to improve the surface in the time available. Subsequently, Stewards met with a delegation of senior jockeys and trainers that were engaged at today’s meeting resulting in trainers and jockeys electing to continue with the meeting with the state of the track to be reviewed after the running of the first race.
