Race 1: BEAUDESERT SOFT DRINKS F&M CLASS 3 PLATE – 1300M

COVER UP – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SHE’S GOT BEAUTY.

GWENTH JEAN – Hung out from the 600m until entering the home straight.

Race 2: PSP VIDEO C,G&E CLASS 3 PLATE – 1300M

ANNAMAN – Began awkwardly.

WE’RE READY – Began awkwardly.

CHILLIN WITH DYLAN – Stewards afforded apprentice J. Orman the opportunity to comment on the horse’s performance. He stated that the gelding was not suited by the slow tempo and had made the home turn awkwardly. He added that given it was the horse’s first up run from a spell, he was not overly disappointed with the performance, given that the horse is looking for further distance.

Race 3: CLEAR SUMMER LODGE C,G&E MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M

The start was delayed when TIN’S POCKET and AFFRAY, which had both been fractious in the barriers, were removed, underwent veterinary examinations and subsequently cleared to start.

ARCHYTAS – T. Harrison was advised to exercise more care for shifting ground near the 800m. T. Harrison reported at scale that the gelding was fractious at the start and was slow to begin, and as a result settled further back than she would have liked.

TIN’S POCKET – Difficult to load and then became fractious. Trainer S. Strazzieri was advised that the gelding would have to officially trial prior being permitted to start again. Began awkwardly.

AFFRAY – R. Fradd was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts to the end of the race.

HEKAWI – The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse pulled up with mild heat stress.

ROB’S RANSOM – Bumped at the start. Jockey T. Bell reported to stewards that his saddle shifted during the event, placing him at some disadvantage.

SUPREME VOLTAGE – Shifted in at the start and made contact with ROB’S RANSOM. Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 800m.

ELMOTINO – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Race 4: QPSIG F&M MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M

PETITE CLEO – Began awkwardly.

THESSALY – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

ALBEZZERA – Pending any further submissions, trainer R. Lyford will be fined $100 for the late declaration of R. Jamieson as the rider of this runner. Began awkwardly.

ANGEL MIO – Began awkwardly. Shifted out, making contact with another runner, when awkwardly placed at heels near the 900m. Had to be eased when racing in restricted room near the 400m.

SAYS ME – Began awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn.

LOCOMOTION – Bumped near the 900m. Lost its near fore plate in running.

DEAR HILLARY – Tightened for room at the start.

Race 5: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1200M

ELIMINATOR – Apprentice L. Dittman was afforded the opportunity to comment on the horse’s performance. He said that his mount never travelled comfortably throughout and then when placed under pressure near the 600m, failed to respond and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

RED DIAMONDS – Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped BRIGADOON LEGEND.

LANDALE – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages and near the 700m shifted out and raced wide for the remainder of the event.

Race 6: DERBY DAY RACES BEAUDESERT QTIS 3YO BM65 H'CAP – 1300M

LIKE A RULER – Overraced in the early stages.

GOOD TO BE GREAT – Momentarily held up approaching the home straight.

SWEET RED WINE – Trainer D. Forster was fined $100 for failing to produce the horse’s Thoroughbred Identification Card.

WALTZ IN FLIGHT – Inclined to lay in for the majority of the home straight.

CAPETOWN HUSSEY – Slow to begin.

MARLAHN – Slow to begin.
