GENERAL

As apprentices S. Willis and M. Goring were not riding for acceptable reasons and apprentice S. Bailey was ill, rider replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary. Apprentice Bailey was advised that she would require a medical clearance prior to next riding.

Compliance Assurance Stewards undertook a number of random pre-race blood samples at today’s meeting.

Due to requiring a second ambulance on course after the fall in race 5, the remaining races were rescheduled to the below times:

RACE 1: TAB WE’RE ON CLASS 1 PLATE 2450 Metres

EXPLOSIVE POWER (NZ) – Laid in under pressure from the 400m.

REVELAIDE – Blundered on jumping. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and had to be steadied from the heels of PREACHABULL near the1400m.

FRIJOLES – Slow to begin.

I'M THAT GUY (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.


RACE 2: BEAUDESERT RACEDAY 12 MARCH MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres

SAVE THE ROSES – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Apprentice J. Williams reported that his left leg made heavy contact with the barrier partition on jumping.

TAKE SHELTER – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

CLIODHNA MAEVE (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SOUND THE BUGLE – Raced keenly in the early stages.

ZEMOREYA – Bumped on jumping. When asked to comment, jockey C. Graham could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

PORCELAIN PRINCE – Declared a late scratching at 11:30am due to transportation difficulties.

RACE 3: QLD JEWEL RACEDAY MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 Metres

The start of this race was delayed approximately two minutes when CROSS OF SCARLETT made contact with the outside rail whilst enroute to the barriers and caused damage to the rail, which required repair. CROSS OF SCARLETT subsequently underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Trainer M. Morrison was advised that a warning would be placed on the pre-race manners of the mare.

WATCHTHETHUNDAROLL – Leaving the 400m, raced in restricted room when ROCKET THREE (D. Peisley) shifted in when not clear. Jockey D. Peisley was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

ZOUSLAYER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not raced in an extended period and was cleared to start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 250m, became momentarily awkward to the inside of PRINCE OF SYNERGY, which rolled in marginally. Raced greenly in the home straight. When asked to comment, jockey D. Thornton could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

NEXTA SANTA ANA – Approaching the 1200m, inconvenienced when CLAW MACHINE shifted out. Raced greenly in the home straight.

WIMOWEH – Shifted out rounding the home turn.

MOR KOMPASHYN – Shifted out on jumping.

PRINCE OF SYNERGY – Raced wide throughout.

CLAW MACHINE – Approaching the 1200m, shifted out after improving onto the heels of SUMMER READY(F. Larson), which after crossing, steadied. Jockey F. Larsen was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

CROSS OF SCARLET – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Whilst racing keenly in the early stages, improved onto heels and had to be steadied near the 900m. Approaching the 400m, steadied after improving onto the heels of MOR KOMPASHYN.

EFFIE'S JOY – Taken wider rounding the home turn when WIMOWEH shifted out.

SCUTI – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.

SUMMER READY – Shifted out under pressure over the final 100m obliging its rider to stop and straighten.


RACE 4: PROST @ AQUIS STALLIONS QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1400 Metres

DOONBEG – Near the 350m, raced in restricted room and was steadied between GYPSY WISH which rolled in and SON OF A LIE which rolled out marginally. Apprentice E. Lang reported that DOONBEG raced very greenly throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer B. Healey was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the gelding.

DUOMO – Raced keenly with its head up in the early stages. Apprentice J. Williams was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR132(6)(b) for using his whip in an action that raises his arm above shoulder height. In assessing the matter, Stewards took into account the fact that apprentice Williams had only used his whip minimally in the home straight.

SON OF A LIE – Raced wide throughout.

TANGO TOWERS – Raced tight near the 400m.

FLYING PHOENIX – Change of tactics; to be further forward. Bumped on jumping. Settled in a midfield position. When asked to comment, jockey D. Thornton reported that the filly failed to muster speed in the early stages and as a result he was obliged to settle further back than he was instructed.

GYPSY WISH – Blundered on jumping and as a result lost ground. Raced wide for the majority.

MISHANI VISION – Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor reported that his mount raced greenly. Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finish line.

PEARL OF SICILY (NZ) – Momentarily inconvenienced leaving the 400m.

BACETTI – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 400m, inconvenienced and shifted out to avoid the heels of GAIRLOCH. Apprentice T. Fenlon was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR132(6)(b) for using her whip in an action that raises her arm above shoulder height.

PRINCE PHOENIX – Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn.

GAIRLOCH – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Leaving the 400m, bumped the running rail when racing in restricted room to the inside of TRANGO TOWERS, which shifted in and away from PRINCE PHOENIX, and as a result GAIRLOCH became awkward and lost ground.


RACE 5: TAB LIVE VISION COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1200 Metres

The start of this race was delayed approximately 2 minutes to allow the running of an interstate event.

BOOM BREAK – Apprentice E. Lang reported the gelding was disappointing in its finishing efforts and may be better suited in races over a shorter distance.

BALTRAY – Approaching the 900m, had to be checked when tightened for room between GRAND CRUSADER and THIEM, which was taken in by STATEMENT OF TRUTH (D. Turner), which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey D. Turner was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that approaching the 900m, he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of THEIM, which had to be steadied and was taken in onto BALTRAY, which was severely tightened for room and had to be checked. Jockey Turner’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 16 days to commence midnight the 11th of February 2026 and to conclude midnight the 27th of Feburary 2026. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account the QRIC Careless Riding Penalty guidelines. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Near the 50m, was taken in by YEAH COPY (D. Boche) and made contact with GRAND CRUSADER for a number of strides. Jockey D. Boche was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in this incident.

CHAYSE'N'SCOTTY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

GRAND CRUSADER – Bumped shortly after the start. Bumped and taken inwards by YEAH COPY over the final 50m.

JE REVE – Declared a late scratching at 11:56am when trainer L. Anderson advised the gelding was found to have swelling and abrasions to its off hind hock in its stable. Trainer L. Anderson was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing or trialing.

SAXINOUE – Whilst racing keenly in the early stages, improved onto heels and had to be steadied near the 800m and again near the 700m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

THIEM – Bumped shortly after the start. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn.

TRISKELION (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages and had to be steadied near the 900m when racing in restricted room. Fell approaching the 200m. Stewards have adjourned an inquiry into the reasons why TRISKELION fell near the 200m. Apprentice J. Williams was examined by the QAS officials and transported to hospital for further observations. Apprentice Williams was advised that he would incur a 12 day stand down as per the QRIC Concussion Protocol and would be required to obtain a medical certificate and complete a satisfactory cognitive test prior to next riding. A post-race veterinary examination of TRISKELION revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg and was treated by the oncourse veterinarian. Trainer’s representative was advised that TRISKELION will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing or trialing again.

YEAH COPY – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.

BELISTIC MAN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.


RACE 6: SUPPORT CLAIR SAUNDERS FILLIES AND MARES 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1200 Metres

ANCIENT SCENT – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Jockey D. Boutet was reminded of his obligations to fully ride his mount out to the finish line.

PEE BEE NOIR – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.

PRETTY RHO – Slow to begin.

JIDAYUBORI – Raced wide throughout.


RACE 7: BEAUDESERTRACECLUB.COM BM65 HANDICAP 1400 Metres

BROKEN HERO – Began awkwardly.

CARPACCIO – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 400m until leaving the 200m.

SUKHBIR – Trainer M. Brosnan was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for the late declaration of the rider. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

TIGON PRINCESS – Jockey R. Wiggins reported his mount didn’t feel comfortable over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow recovery.

LOU VEGA – Bounded on jumping and lost ground. Raced keenly for a short distance near the 700m.

LONDON POINT (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer B. Robinson was advised that the mare would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and would be required to gallop/trial 1000m to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.


RACE 8: GOLD COAST BOWLS & COMMUNITY CLUB 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1650 Metres

GOOGAZ – Trainer O. Cairns was reprimanded pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting the gelding in blinkers, which were not part of its declared gear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hindleg. Trainer O. Cairns was advised that GOOGAZ will require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing or trialing.

TREASURER – Raced keenly in the early stages.

VACILLATION – Bumped with ROCKRATA approaching the 800m.

ESPADA ROPERA – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

MISHANI IMPACT – Slow to begin. Leaving the 400m, steadied after improving onto the heels of HOTCHI. Momentarily held up near the 300m.

HOTCHI – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the first occasion. Trainer L. Mayfield-Smith was advised that the gelding would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and would be required to gallop/trial 1000m to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.

COCO JEWEL – After being caught wide in the early stages, was ridden forward to obtain the lead near the 900m. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Taylor advised the mare had to do some early work after being caught wide to obtain the leading position, however when placed under pressure, commenced to weaken and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

ROCKRATA – Approaching the 800m, when attempting to shift out around the heels of COCO JEWEL, bumped with VACILLATION and as a result had to be steadied from the heels of COCO JEWEL. Near the 300m, steadied after becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of TREASURER which rolled in marginally.
