GENERAL

Trainer J. Bayliss was fined $200 pursuant to LR68(1) for failing to scratch KUIA MA, ORMOND ROAD and ROXSET by the prescribed time. When determining penalty, Stewards considered the circumstances put forward by trainer Bayliss and that the late scratching’s didn’t cost any emergencies a run. Due to those late scratching’s, TAKE SHELTER, MYSTERY POWER and DARLING TAKE CARE all gained a start during the interim and as trainers didn’t wish to start their runners, they were subsequently withdrawn at 7:45am.

As jockey W. O’Connell had transportation difficulties, he was replaced as per the race day summary.

As Jockey D. Turner did not attend today’s meeting, he was replaced by Jockey D. Peisley as the rider of DO WHAT I SAY in Race 5. Subsequently, Jockey D. Turner was fined $100 pursuant to AR127(1) for failing to fulfil his riding engagement.

Stewards approved the following overweights at today’s meeting:
Race 4: M. Hellyer +1kg (55)
Race 4: D. Boche +1kg (55)
Race 6: J. Stanley +1kg (55)

RACE 2: BOOK A RACEDAY QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1100M

The start of this race was delayed when MIDNIGHT CASCADE shifted out abruptly and made heavy contact with the outside fence on route to the barriers, resulting in Jockey C. Bennett being dislodged. MIDNIGHT CASCADE was subsequently declared a late scratching at 12:36pm. Jockey C. Bennett was attended to by the QAS officials and transported to hospital with an injury to his right leg. Jockey C. Bennett was advised he would require a medical clearance before riding again.

Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on MIDNIGHT CASCADE be refunded in full, with the following deductions to apply:
