GENERAL
Stewards inquired into the conduct of apprentice J. McMurray in the mounting enclosure following the running of race 3. Apprentice J. McMurray in the presence of Racing Queensland training officer Mr M. Cahill, pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct pursuant to AR115(1)(a), in that he used inappropriate language in reference to another rider who rode in the race, in the vicinity of racing participants. Apprentice McMurray was fined $300. Further, as apprentice J. McMurray had been issued a penalty at the Ipswich race meeting on 29th April 2026, relating to his conduct under this same rule, which had been suspended for a period of 2 years under the provisions of AR283(5), on the condition he did not reoffend in that period with regards to his conduct, Stewards enacted the penalty and Apprentice McMurray’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days, commencing midnight 29th August 2026 and expiring midnight 5th September 2026.
Race 1 - TAB BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 2450 M
DEMARCAY (GB) – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
SUNNY DISPOSITION – Laid out from the 500m until the entrance of the home straight. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
FLAMING GENESIS – Blundered on jumping. Near the 1300m, put in an awkward stride and became unbalanced.
PAPAL MISS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at the Gold Coast on 15/8/26 and was cleared to start.
Race 2 - XXXX MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
The start of this race was delayed approximately 2 minutes when FLYING RETURN became fractious and lunged forward in the barriers. Subsequently, the gelding was removed from the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Trainer’s representative for M. Freedman was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
ELNAJEEB – Apprentice W. Galloway dropped his whip near the 100m. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight and over the final 100m bumped on several occasions with MAGRITTE.
FAWUNDERPAR – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
STRENUOUS – Raced keenly in the early stages.
MONEY ON MY MIND – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
RULER'S HEART – Resaddled on arrival at the barriers.
MAGRITTE – Bumped on several occasions over the final 100m by ELNAJEEB.
KIAVELA – Slow to begin. Shifted out rounding the home turn.
LUCKY CRIMSON – Jumped in at the start and bumped MONEY ON MY MIND.
FLYING RETURN – Hung out rounding the home turn. Apprentice J. McMurray reported the gelding raced greenly throughout.
Race 3 - SCENIC RIM COUNCIL QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD & FOUR-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1100 M
SWIFT DUKE – Leaving the 900m, momentarily steadied from the heels of CLAUDIO which laid in and away from ODE TO BEAUTY.
FINANCIALLY FAMOUS – Slow to begin and lost ground. Near the 250m held up on the heels of the weakening CLAUDIO before shifting out near the 200m.
THE GRAND DUCHY – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
BENT BRIDGE – Trainer B. Gorman was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider. Jockey G. Cartwright was harmlessly dislodged on return to the enclosure following the race.
MISS WILDCAT – Jockey B. Wheeler reported the mare which was first up, may not have been suited to today’s track conditions and would take benefit from the run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
ARMAND – Slow to begin.
CLAUDIO – Change of tactics; to ride forward and lead. Ridden accordingly.
ZAVEGA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
Race 4 - MEN MATTER 24TH OCTOBER CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1650 M
ROMANTIC BUBBLE (NZ) – Began awkwardly and bumped with TARAVIA. Raced keenly in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer K. Clark-Peoples was notified that in accordance with AR79(4), ROMANTIC BUBBLE shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse, recognised training track, private training establishment, or other place for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: (i) a gallop of at least 1000 metres; or (ii) an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.
TARAVIA (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping ROMANTIC BUBBLE. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
NAUGHTY NURSE – Laid out rounding the home turn.
SHOWMAN (NZ) – Slow to begin.
WHISKY TRAIN (NZ) – Change of tactics; to be ridden further back with cover. Settled in a rearward position.
Race 5 - TAB BEAUDESERT CUP 21 NOVEMBER CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1200M
BARRELLING – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
KILONOVA – Jockey J. Guthman-Chester reported the mare was not suited to today’s track conditions and the tight turning track. Trainer K. Clark-Peoples advised it is the intention to send the mare for a spell.
STRAIGHT BLAST – Near the 900m, raced in restricted room for a short distance between ZAINDARA and HIGH TIAGO.
HI TIAGO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
MISHANI STELLER – Bumped at the start. Near the 150m, steadied from the heels of BLUE EYE DAME (M. Savva) which after rolling out, shifted back in. Jockey M. Savva was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
BLUE EYE DAME – Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.
Race 6 - BEAUDESERT RACEDAY 17 SEPTEMBER RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1400M
STANDLEE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CALVARY – Held up for clear running approaching the home turn.
MISS LINNY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at Toowoomba on 15/8/26 and was cleared to start. Bumped with PEACH GALANTES on jumping.
GLENRAY'S MATE – Slow into stride.
PEACH GALANTES – Bumped at the start.
SUPER JOHNNY JOYA – Began awkwardly.
APPARATE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
LITTLE SHOW – Raced three wide without cover in the early and middle stages. Apprentice B. Baker dropped her whip approaching the 150m.

EXCEED PERFECTION – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running from the 500m until being steadied and shifting in near the 200m to obtain clear running.
PRINCE OF SYNERGY – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
ESCAPE BEACH – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
MYSTICAL GEM – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
INVISIBLE TARGET – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Shifted wider rounding the home turn.
KOOL BRUCE – Slow to begin.
MISSING BOUNDARIES – Slow to begin.
RAZOR'S MAGIC – Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages.
BILLILICIOUS – As jockey A. Thompson was overweight, he was replaced by jockey C. Graham. Jockey Thompson was fined $200 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
MAGGIE ROSE – Inconvenienced on the entrance to the home straight.
Race 8 - HOME OF COUNTRY RACING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400M
SPEED MAP – Blundered on jumping away.
MISTER SELFIE – Inconvenienced and shifted wider leaving the 1200m. Raced keenly in the early stages.
VENTUROUS – Bumped at the start. Raced wide without cover throughout.
CHAYSE 'N' PENNY – Slow to begin.
FAMILY OF LEAGUE – Began awkwardly. Apprentice W. Galloway was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the finish line.
ALL ABOUT ARTIE – Approaching the 1200m tightened for room and steadied when taken in by FIERCE LUVA, which was taken in by LAMBORTINA (G. Cartwright) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Jockey G. Cartwright was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident. Near the 300m, momentarily held up on heels.
