Race 1 – DALBY RURAL SUPPLIES/A&B GRAINS/BLACK TOYOTA CLASS B HCP (1) - 1300M:

CHILLDOWN – Was slow to begin.

HAVEAGUESS – Was slow to begin. Raced wide in the middle stages of the event.

CADALORA – Rider lost near side iron shortly after the start, and then shortly after regained the use of said iron. M. Kai, the rider of Cadalora was reprimanded for using the whip in a forehand manner in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.

LADY HORSEPOWER – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.

RED WARNING – After being crossed near the 900m, improved onto heels and raced ungenerously until obtaining clear running near the 400m.

GRACE ACE – Began awkwardly.


Race 2 – WARWICK CREDIT UNION CLASS B HCP (2) - 1300M:

Stewards accepted the explanation for the late rider alteration of PICALOVA (J. Hoopert).

CRAFTY’S LAST – Was slow to begin. Shifted out wider on the track near the 400m to obtain clear running. Laid in over the concluding stages. Trainer B. Tattam was questioned in regards to the improved performance of Crafty's Last and stated that the mare had been working well recently and that he had expected a competitive performance.

BERT’S LEGACY – Forced wider on the track near the 400m by another runner.

LIGHT PHILOU – Raced wide in the middle stages of the event. R. Payne, the rider of Light Philou, was dislodged after the winning post and suffered a harmless fall.


Race 3 – AGRIFOODS AUSTRALIA/DALBY ICE MAIDEN PLATE –– 1300M:

Correct weight was delayed to afford jockey D. McIntosh the rider of 2nd place getter ALLEZ CHARLIE, the opportunity to the view the patrol film to establish whether or not he had grounds to lodge a protest against 1st place getter CHANCE TO DREAM for alleged interference over the concluding stages of the event. After viewing the film, D. McIntosh decided against lodging an objection.

Correct weight was further delayed when connections of CATADAM and CROWN THE BOSS were also afforded the opportunity to the view the patrol film to establish whether or not they had grounds to make application to be declared non-runners for being denied a fair start. Connections of both Catadam and Crown The Boss decided against lodging an application and correct weight was declared on the judges numbers semaphored.

CATADAM – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

CROWN THE BOSS – Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Shortly after the start, shifted out wider on the track.

GLORY ME – Was slow to begin and bumped another runner shortly after the start.

BASILISK – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Laid out rounding the home turn.

ALLEZ CHARLIE – Laid in over the concluding stages and had to shift in further after improving onto the heels of another runner, which shifted out marginally.

CHANCE TO DREAM – Laid out over the concluding stages.


Race 4 – WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL WAMBO CUP BMK 65 HCP – 1200M:

Stewards accepted the explanation for the late rider alteration of GREAT TOUCH (J. Geppert).

I’M THE ONE proved difficult to proceed to the barriers, dislodged its rider and suffered a laceration to its near shoulder after breaking through the outside rail. I’M THE ONE underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently withdrawn by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice at 3:49pm. All monies invested on I’M THE ONE were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and place-getters prior to 3:49pm:

5 cents in the dollar for winner #8 (ON ICE NOW)
4 cents in the dollar for place of winner #8 (ON ICE NOW)
6 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #6 (SEAZA)
6 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #5 (OUR CLARKY)

M. Goodwin, the trainer of I’M THE ONE was advised that the gelding must officially trial to the steward’s satisfaction and provide a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Prior to the commencement of Race 4, temporary repairs were made to the outside running rail a short distance after the winning post.

HELL’S KITCHEN – Was slow to begin.

GREAT TOUCH – Jumped away awkwardly and threw its head in the air.

ON ICE NOW – Raced wide without cover during the middle stages of the event.

RED BULL – Raced wide during the middle stages of the event.

ANCHOR BOLT – Improved onto heels near the 800m and had to be restrained.



Race 5 – ELDERS/SINGH TRANSPORT/CASSIDY HOMES CLASS 1 HCP – 1000M:

KOOL HEAVEN – Began awkwardly. Hung out over the concluding stages and was unable to be fully tested. Trainer N. King was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

KOOROOGAN LANE – Bumped another runner on jumping away and became unbalanced momentarily.

RODEL – Bumped by another runner on jumping away and became unbalanced momentarily.

EMPRESS AYLEAH – Raced wide throughout.

OUR STARLIGHT – Tightened for room near the 800m and had to be restrained to avoid heels and lost ground.

KUNG FU KITTY – Restrained from the heels of La Tenza which shifted in near the 150m. W. O’Connell, the rider of La Tenza, was advised by stewards to exercise greater care when permitting mounts to shift in.

LA TENZA – Laid in over the concluding stages.

BELATIN – Laid out rounding the home turn wide.


Race 6 – LANDMARK/CARRICK ALAND ACCOUNTANTS/REPCO MAIDEN PLATE - 1000M:

YOUBIDYOUBUY – Was slow to begin. Improved onto heels near 700m and had to be restrained. Laid out rounding the home turn.

PAT’S SECRET – Stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground. Trainer J. Smith was advised that the mare must officially trial to steward’s satisfaction prior to being permitted to start again.

SNIPPET’S OF LUCK – Improved onto heels near the 700m and was steadied. Improved onto heels again near the 400m and had to be restrained.

ADREAMS ASSURED – Was forced to restrain from the heels of CHILEAN QUEEN, which shifted in near the 400m. Apprentice H. Phillips, the rider CHILEAN QUEEN was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
