GLENROCK MAX and MONO GIRL were both injured enroute to the track and were therefore declared late scratchings at 11:40am
RACE 1: DALBY RURAL SUPPLIES/EDGAR & WOOD CLASS B H’CAP (1) – 1300M
1ST - TEEMOLTON 2ND – EXCELLENT STAR 3RD – TIN’S POCKET 4TH – THERE’S NEMO
GET OUTA UTAH – Slow to begin.
MAXADRAMA – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
TEEMOLTON – Raced wide throughout the event.
THERE’S NEMO – Brushed the running rail leaving the 900m when momentarily tightened for room.
JUST LIKE ERROL – When questioned regarding the performance, which was below market expectations, Apprentice H. English reported that after restraining in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail, the gelding failed to travel comfortably and proved disappointing. Stewards noted the explanation.
RACE 2: DALBY RURAL SUPPLIES/EDGAR & WOOD CLASS B H’CAP (2) – 1300M
1ST - AZUSA 2ND – LADY WIVENHOE 3RD - TIVERTON 4TH – MURPHY’S HUSTLER
MURPHY’S HUSTLER – Slow to begin.
LADY WIVENHOE – Slow to muster speed. Raced wide around the home turn.
AZUSA – Overraced in the early stages.
FLINDER’S LUCK – Raced wide throughout the event.
RACE 3: ELDERS/A&B GRAINS/SINGH TRANSPORT MAIDEN PLATE – 1300M
1ST – PLATINUM GRAY 2ND – FIRM STAND 3RD - WARDEH 4TH –WIDOWMAKER
The announcement of correct weight was delayed to afford Stewards the opportunity view the film of the start. After viewing the footage and interviewing starter K. Hauff, assistant starter Mr I Henderson and interviewing the riders in the race it was established that a number of runners in this race jumped from the incorrect barriers. As Stewards were satisfied that the result of the race was not effected as a result of this error, correct weight was declared. Furthermore as Stewards were satisfied the error occurred as a result of the directions issued by the starter, and that the riders involved attempted to notify the starter of the fact they were in the incorrect barriers, no action was taken against the riders. A report in relation to this matter will be provided to the Race Day Operations Manager for his attention.
CLANG’S TOUCH – Trainer M. Bailey advised Stewards it was his intention to have the gelding ridden further back from the wide barrier in today’s event. The gelding settled in a midfield position.
MANNY SUGGESTIONS- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
READY FOR ROYALITY- Slow to muster early speed.
FIRM STAND- Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
WARDEH- Bumped by another runner near the 300m.
RACE 4: LANDMARK/CARRICK ALAND ACCOUNTANTS BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1200m
1ST –Smooth Talker 2ND-Spice of Life 3RD-Our Clarky 4TH-I Do Care
GENERAL KINGSMAN- Blundered badly at the start and lost considerable ground.
SPICE OF LIFE- Slow to begin.
ALL IN ALL- Bumped at the start. Trainer T Dougall reported that in his opinion the horse didn’t handle the tight turning firm track today and as a result performed disappointingly.
SMOOTH TALKER- Raced wide throughout.
RED WARNING- Tightened for room and checked near the 900m. Apprentice S Alam pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that as the rider of MONTANUS he permitted his mount to shift in at that point of the race when insufficiently clear of RED WARNING causing it to check. Apprentice Alam’s license to ride in race was suspended for a period of 9 days commencing midnight 7-1-16 and to expire at midnight 16-1-15.
RACE 5: EASTERN RURAL BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1000M
1ST- Count Kawana 2ND - Embrarer 3RD - Jeptoo 4TH - Chilldown
As Jockey N Evans was stood down by the ambulance officials following his ride in race 4, and S Lacy was stood down by the ambulance officials following race 3, rider replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary. Both N Evans and S Lacy were advised they will be required to provide a Medical Clearance prior to next riding.
QUATTRO FANTASTICO- Reared over on entering the track and was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 4:25pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on QUATTRO FANTASTICO be refunded with the following deductions to apply.
1st- 0 cents the win and 8 cents the place
2nd- 9 cents the place
3rd- 10 cents the place
Trainer B Hudson was advised that QUATTRO FANTASTICO would be required to barrier trial prior to next racing.
SECOND HAND LION- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
MIDDLEMOUNT MURPHY- Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.
CHOSEN COURT- Raced wide throughout.
KIARA QUEEN- Made the home turn wide.
AL HAMZA- On returning to scale Apprentice H English reported that her saddle shifted during the event making the horse difficult to ride with her normal vigour.
CHILLDOWN- Tightened for room near the 600m and lost ground.
MISS TYPIN- Hampered at the start and lost ground.
RACE 6: WARWICK CREDIT UNION/AGRIFOODS AUSTRALIA MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
1ST –Leila’s Call 2ND-Halpin 3RD-Everingham 4TH-Chevys Desire
As S Apthorpe was stood down by the ambulance officials, he was replaced in this event as per the Stewards Summary. Jockey Apthorpe was advised me would be required to obtain a medicial clearance prior to next riding.
LEILA’S CALL- Apprentice H Phillips was fined $500 for using he whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, some of which were in consecutive strides. In assessing penalty Stewards were mindful of Apprentice Phillips poor record in relation to this rule.
HAMMERACK- Rider reported on return to scale that the horse raced greenly throughout the event and resented racing through the kickback.
WITSISTA- Hung out throughout the event and made the home turn wide.
FAIRMORE- Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
FAREWELL ANNA- Raced wide throughout.
GROSSALOCKNER- Raced wide throughout.
