GENERAL
 
Due to current Covid restrictions the following overweight allowances were approved by Stewards.
 
Race 1- Appr E MacPherson- claimed only 2.0kg of her allowance.
 
Race 2- Jockey C Meehan +.5kg
 
Race 3- Appr E MacPherson- claim only 1.0kg of her allowance.
 
Horses trained by Mr D Reynolds scheduled to race at this meeting were declared late scratching’s at 6.00pm on 7/1/2022 by order of Stewards acting under AR20(d). These and other late scratching’s for this meeting are as per the Stewards Summary.
 
Jockey K Gates and Appr. Jockey Z Sprie did not ride at todays meeting due to personal reasons, rider replacements as per the Stewards Summary
 
Enroute to the barriers for Race 1 Appr C Miles was dislodged from her mount. Ms Miles was examined by Queensland Ambulance Service and was conveyed to Dalby Hospital for further examination and treatment for an injury. Replacement riders for Ms Miles are as per the Stewards Summary.
 
Due to the delay whilst another Ambulance arrived on course the starting time of Race 1 was amended to 2.08pm, Race 2 to 2.45pm, Race 3 to 3.20pm. Race/s 4,5 and 6 remained on time as per the program.
 
 
Race 1: COMBINED LOCAL BUSINESS HOUSES MAIDEN PLATE 1300M
 
 
DESTINATION SYDNEY- began awkward.
 
PLAN CEE- began awkwardly.
 
ZABCAN- tightened for room shortly after the start. Raced ungenerously during the early stages despite the efforts of the rider. From the 400m the rider elected to shift out to improve and take a more forward position. When entering the home straight the horse veered out extremely wide and continued to race erratically despite the best efforts of the rider. From the 200m it began making up considerable ground and doing its best work over the final stages.
 
SINGLE CHARGE- travelled wide with cover during the early stages of the event. Leaving the 1100m point shifted out to improve and travelled wide with no cover. Ran three wide outside the leader leaving the 600m. Began to hang in when entering the home straight for a short distance and continued racing wide for the remainder of the event.
 
YIA MAS- travelled wide with no cover during the early- mid stages.
 
PERCY- The start was delayed when Appr C Miles was dislodged on the way to the barrier. After being examined by Queensland Ambulance Services she was deemed unfit to ride for the remainder of the program and conveyed to Dalby Hospital after the running of Race 1 for treatment. Appr Miles will be advised by Stewards that a Medical Certificate would be required prior to riding again. At 1.35pm PERCY was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards with all monies invested as a result of the scratching were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable on bets placed on the winner ZABCAN Win- 3c, Place- 3c, 2nd placing PLANN CEE - 3c and 3rd placing- THE EDITORIAL- 4c. Stewards declared correct weight and Trainer B Park was advised by Stewards acting under AR75(1) that the horse would be required to obtain a barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
PALPATION- was slow to begin.
 
 
Race 2: DALBY RURAL SUPPLIES/ WR CRANES CLASS B HANDICAP 1300M
 
AVOCA- approaching the 150m point began to lay in under pressure for a short distance despite the efforts by the rider.
 
JUST RAFFERTY- at the 200m raced in restricted room at that point for a short distance.
 
ZUIICHI- raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 400m.
 
REFLECTIVE- jumped awkwardly at the start bumping MRS SHMICKELBERG, then shortly after the start the gelding was buffeted between runners when MOUNTEBANK jumped out and as a result lost some ground.
 
MOUNTEBANK- began awkwardly when it jumped out at the start resulting in REFLECTIVE being inconvenienced.
 
MRS SHMICKELBERG- bumped by another runner shorting after the start. Jockey C Meehan advised Stewards when returning to scales the horse was overracing for the majority of the race. Trainer S Sixtus advised Stewards post-race that the horse has lost a near side rear plate in running.
 
BOLD ADMIRAL- Shifted out shortly after the start despite the efforts of its rider, then travelled wide for the majority of the event. Stewards acting under LR67 fined Trainer C Storch the sum of $100 the late rider notification.
 
Race 3: KELLCO LIVESTOCK/ NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS CLASS B HANDICAP 1300M
 
 
LUCKY ENUFF- slow to begin, bumped by another runner shortly after the start.
 
DISCO DAMO- shifted out and bumped LUCKY ENUFF after the start. Raced ungenerously for a short distance losing ground. When called upon by the rider to improve the gelding commenced to buck for some distance, the horse was then eased out of the race by the rider. Trainer Mr M Currie was advised by Stewards acting under AR75(1) that the horse would be required to pass an official barrier trial prior to racing again.
 
TERRE DI BACCIO- shifted in shortly after the start and bumped MONICA ROOM. Travelled wide early stages, tailed off mid- race and raced disappointingly from that point.
 
STORMWATER- slow to begin, travelled wide during the early- mid stages of the event.
 
MISHANI PHAROAH- raced three- wide outside the leader from the 600m after the running of Race 6 today attending Veterinarian advised Stewards that the gelding had pulled up sore. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse was non-weight bearing on the left foreleg and had some lameness in the near right foreleg. Pain relief was administered. Trainer Mr G Barbierato was later advised by Stewards that acting under AR75(2) a Vet Certificate would be required prior to the horse racing again.
 
MONICA ROOM- bumped by another runner and became unbalanced shortly after the start and then raced ungenerously for a short distance. From the 200m travelled extremely wide for the remainder of the event.
 
CARLTON STAR- laid out under pressure from the 100m.
 
 
Race 4: WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL WAMBO CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200M
 
THE CONSIGLIERE- travelled wide for the majority of the race.
 
TABARD- shifted out shortly after the start resulting in SPECIAL CASE being inconvenienced shortly after the start, then travelled wide with no cover during the middle stages of the event.
 
SPECIAL CASE- began well, shortly after the start was tightened for room and lost ground when TABARD shifted out marginally. The rider was then forced to ease off the heels of MAHA MUSTANG when it laid out marginally. Jockey Yoshida was then forced to shift out across the heels of MAHA MUSTANG to improve his position. Weakened badly over the final stages of the event.
 
MAHA MUSTANG- began well, then laid in marginally for a short distance after the start. travelled wide with no cover after entering the home straight for the remainder.
 
CHEESIE- began slowly, travelled wide with no cover for the majority.
 
BUNDOORA- slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5: BRAZIER TRAILERS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
SIR SLEW- began awkwardly at the start and bumped TABOO. When leaving the 600m the horse hung in despite the efforts of the rider. Appr E MacPherson was advised by Stewards to exercise more care when shifting ground as when attempting to cross ALAN ALAN STEVE it did appear that although clear of that horse, she could have afforded to give that horse more room.
 
ALAN ALAN STEVE- between the 800m – 600m point hung in for some distance despite the efforts of the rider, then at the 600m when being crossed by SIR SLEW the rider had to take hold momentarily. Travelled wide from the 200m point for the remainder of the event.
 
MISERY MISS - veered in shortly after the start bumping SUPERIOR ONE.
 
MY GIRL SPIRIT- jumped with its head in the air.
 
TABOO-bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Travelled wide during the mid-stages
 
ULTRA INSTINCT- travelled wide for the middle- final stages of the race.
 
TRUBOOM- slow to begin.
 
MOVE BY- began awkwardly then knuckled soon after the start losing ground.
 
SUPERIOR ONE- bumped by MISERY MISS shortly after the start, then was buffeted between runners for a short distance and lost some ground.
 
 
RACE 6 GILLILAND LIVESTOCK MARKETING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000M
 
AIRWING- travelled wide over the final 200m and did its best work over the final stages of the event.
 
HALCYON DAYS- tailed off from the 400m point.
 
PETA CALADA- laid out under pressure over the final stages of the race.
 
FOX ON THE ROCKS- dipped at the start.
 
SPANKY BANDIT- jumped out at the start and was bumped on the hindquarters by another runner and became unbalanced.
 
RURAL REBEL- began awkwardly, when entering the home straight drifted wide and continued to race wide for the remainder.
 
BROOKER AVENUE- dislodged at the barriers, Jockey G Steele was examined by Queensland Ambulance Services and passed fit to ride. Trainer N Vuille was advised by Stewards acting under AR75(2) that a Warning would be placed on the horse for its barrier manners. Once loaded the horse was settled. Travelled wide from the 400m for the remainder.
 
FILLYRAE CYRUS- tightened for room shortly after the start and lost some ground.
 
WEATHER MAN- jumped in at the start and made contact with the hindquarters of SPANKY BANDIT and lost ground.
