GENERAL
App G. Steele was reprimanded for failing to produce her winning rides book.
Race 1: XXXX MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
JIMMY TWISTS – Fractious in the barriers, reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer R. Connolly was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a barrier certificate prior to its next race.
STREAMS OF WHISKEY - Slow to begin.
SHAKE THE SHACKLES – Raced wide throughout.
TITLED LADY – Approaching the finish line the mare sustained a significant injury to its near side fetlock, falling and dislodging it’s rider D. Rewald. TILTED LADY was subsequently euthanised on humane grounds.
On return to scale App J. King the rider of BURKETOWN LARRIKIN became physically ill and had to be attended to by Queensland Ambulance officers. As J. King was unable to weigh in, stewards under the provisions of AR.142 were satisfied that BURKETOWN LARRIKIN had carried it’s allotted weight and therefore gave correct weight on the judges semaphored numbers. App J. King was subsequently transported to hospital and was advised he must provide a medical certificate prior to riding next.
Race 2: BLACKALL TYRE CENTRE CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m
Jockey D. REWALD was examined by Queensland Ambulance officers and cleared to fulfill his further riding engagements.
The start of this race was delayed when NAVAL BELLE was fractious and unable to be loaded into the barriers. The filly was declared a late scratching at 2:15pm by order of stewards. All monies invested on NAVAL BELLE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and place-getters prior to 2:15pm.

Trainer C. Prow was advised Naval Belle must obtain a barrier certificate prior to its next race.
SHAFTSMAN – Slow to begin.
KOOL HEAVEN – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
HONEY BLONDE - Bumped on jumping away and became unbalanced.
SPURRED UP – Rider questioned on today’s performance of the mare, Jockey J. Lambie reported the mare struggled to get going in the early stages of the event which placed him much further back than he anticipated. J. Lambie further stated he felt the horse may have resented the kick back from the dirt track.
Race 3: UNION HOTEL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000m
HEART THROB – Slow to begin.
FINNIGANS’S FOLLY - Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
NORTHERN MAGIC – Bumped on jumping away becoming unbalenced.
Race 4: SCHLUTER’S BAKERY BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1050m
WILLYWYNYA – Was declared a late scratching at 2:45pm when there were no available riders.
NATURAL MIST – Turned head into adjoining barrier stall as the start was effected which resulted in the gelding losing ground.
NOU CAMP – Slow to begin.
FORCED SALUTE – Raced wide throughout.
PIPPA’S CALL – Laid in under pressure over the final 150m.
Race 5: SPINKS CONCRETING & FENCING OPEN HANDICAP 1050m
JOE BLOW – Slow to begin.
NO OTHER WAY - Slow to begin.
POWERFUL JET - Approaching the 800m had to be steadied when momentarily crowded for room.
