Race 1: ELDERS WEIGHT FOR AGE 1000m

The start of this race was delayed when LAST PARDEE was fractious and reared up becoming cast in the barriers. The mare was removed from the barriers, examined and was declared a late scratching at 1:07 pm by order of stewards acting on vets advice. All monies invested on LAST PARDEE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and place-getters prior to 1:07pm.

40 cents in the dollar for the win.
33 cents in the dollar for the place.

Trainer T. Austin was advised LAST PARDEE must obtain a barrier certificate prior to its next race.

ASTRONOMER – Shifted out abruptly on jumping and bumped heavily into another runner.

IVANHOE - At the start was bumped heavily and severely hampered when tightened between runners losing ground, 3 lengths.

CRYSTAL MATES - Tightened on jumping

Jockey W. Doyle was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip in a backhand manner.



Race 2: BARCOO PASTORAL AGENCY QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000m

ANOTHER SHADE – Slow to begin.

DIAMONEEZE - Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure over the final 150m.

QUANUM SHADOW - At the 800m had to steady away from heels.

NATURAL MIST - Raced wide throughout.

FELTON PHANTOM - Raced wide throughout.

HUGHIE AND ME - Raced wide throughout.



Race 3: BARRON AGENCIES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m

ME MYSELF AND I – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.

CHANDLIER LASS - Slow to begin.

REVENUE RAIDER - Rider questioned on today’s performance of the gelding, Jockey C. Bryen reported the gelding struggled to get going in the early stages of the event and failed to respond to his riding until the 600m which placed him further back than he anticipated. C. Bryen further added he was happy the way the gelding finished off the race and advised connections that in his opinion the gelding needed further in distance.



Race 4: GDL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200m

SHAFTSMAN - Slow to begin, at the 1000m overraced for a short distance making contact with the running rail.

PRESIDENTIAL - Approaching the 800m was placed in restricted room and lost its position, when BELLE EXPRESS commenced to overrace to the inside of PRESIDENTIAL shifted out and NORTHERN MAGIC which was racing to the outside shifted in slightly. Stewards could not attribute the blame to either rider involved in this incident and took no further action.

PRESIDENTIAL – Dipped at the 700m

App S Chan was fined $200 for his celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.



Race 5: RAY WHITE LIVESTOCK CLASS B HANDICAP 1200m

DIAMOND RUSH – Slow to begin.

MYTH PRINT - Slow to begin.

SEQUELENE - On jumping App K Aho’s off side stirrup made contact with the outside of the barrier partition resulting in the stirrup breaking and placing her in a severe disadvantage. Upon entering the home straight App Aho elected to remove her foot from the near side and then the mare took no further competitive part in the event.

BAY HERO - Raced wide throughout.

AUTOVON - Raced wide throughout.


Race 6: LANDMARK OPEN HANDICAP 1400M

SECRETS - Slow to begin.

SHORT TRIP - Raced wide throughout.

CRAWFISH - Raced wide throughout.
