GENERAL
 
Due to the hot weather conditions that were forecast for the Blackall race day, the start time for the programme was set at 11.00am with each race following to be started at 35-minute intervals. The race meeting was conducted in accordance with the QRIC caring for racing animals in extreme heat policy with pre-race parade times significantly reduced and the establishment of on-course cooling stations in the race-day tie-ups, parade areas and a number of other relevant measures.
 
Race 1: BLACKALL-TAMBO REGIONAL COUNCIL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1050 Metres
 
ARTIE PANTZ – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice Jockey M Mankelow reported that ARTIE PANTZ was slow into stride and in her opinion the mare resented the kickback from today’s racing surface.
 
OAKFIELD TARGET – Bumped on jumping. Raced in restricted room for a short distance shortly after jumping between ZOUPHISTICATE and BOURBON LANE which shifted in.
 
HIGHGROUND – Shifted out under pressure passing the 50m before being straightened by its rider.
 
BOURBON LANE – Began awkwardly and bumped OAKFIELD TARGET on jumping. Shifted in shortly after jumping resulting in OAKFIELD TARGET racing in restricted room for a short distance. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALL TOO VEGAS – After leaving the mounting yard, ALL TOO VEGAS became fractious and harmlessly dislodged Jockey J Missen before cantering riderless to the barriers. The mare underwent a prerace Veterinary examination and was passed suitable to start. Trainer T Schofield was advised that a warning would be placed on ALL TOO VEGAS for her pre-race manners. Began awkwardly.
 
OLIGARCHY – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
VOCATION – Began awkwardly and blundered on jumping.
 
CONSORTING ONE – Slow to begin.
 
Race 2: SCOBIES SADDLERY MAIDEN PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1200 Metres
 
EXSIDEE – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
 
SOME CAT – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride.
 
EASTCOAST HUSSLER – Slow to begin.
 
TRIBESMAN – Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after competing at the Roma race meeting, Tuesday 18th November 2025 and was passed suitable to start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Lost both front shoes in running.
 
HEALTHY SUSPICION – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Jockey R Tilly reported that HEALTHY SUSPICION felt to race flat and one paced. Trainer R Frazer was advised that a warning would be placed the mare for a poor performance.
 
Race 3: BARCOO HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing Apprentice Jockey A Meissner, the rider of second placed FREDDIE EDDIE to view the photo finish. When Apprentice Jockey Meissner and Stewards were similarly satisfied, correct weight was declared on the judges’ semaphored numbers.
 
LASCO – Slow to begin. Held up from the 150m to the 100m before shifting out across the heels of FREDDIE EDDIE to obtain clear running.
 
FREDDIE EDDIE – Laid in under pressure over the final 50m and placed VALIANT JOAN in restricted room passing the winning post. Apprentice Jockey A Meissner was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
LA SUERTE – Slow to begin.
 
DREYFUS – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
MONDAY CHOICE – Fractious in the mounting yard and moving onto the track. Raced ungenerously and was inclined to hang out for the first 200m of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Trainer R Zahl was advised that a warning would be placed on MONDAY CHOICE for her pre-race manners.
 
WOLF POINT – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BLOOMIN' GOLD – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Momentarily inconvenienced when LASCO shifted out passing the 100m. Lost the off fore shoe in running.
 
VALIANT JOAN – Jockey N Morton dismounted at the 1300m on route to the barriers when VALIANT JOAN became fractious and was reluctant to proceed to the barriers. The mare was led to the barriers by the Clerk of the course. Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room passing the winning post when FREDDIE EDDIE laid in under pressure. Trainer H Forster was advised that a warning would be placed on VALIANT JOAN for her prerace manners.
 
Race 4: JB CONTRACTING OPEN PLATE 1200 Metres
 
HEYINGTON STATION – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ROLL UP – Slow to begin.
 
WITHOUT SHAME – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
ALL ENGLAND – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Lost the off fore shoe in running.
 
COLD ONE - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: CAROLAN PAINTING SERVICES QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
KAZZA'S JET – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
VOLDEMORT – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DIVINE COURAGE – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
DELUXE LEGEND – Slow to begin.
 
MALARINA – Slow to begin. Jockey D Evans reported that the mare felt sore in her action during the event. A post-race Veterinary examination of MALARINA revealed the mare to be showing signs of mild foot soreness. Trainer M Gavin reported that it was her intension to send MALARINA for a spell.
 
FINAL MISSION – Laid in for the first 300m before finding a leading position on the rail at the 1100m. Lost the near hind shoe in running.
