General

The following overweights were permitted:
Race 1. A Butler 0.5kg, G Kliese 1kg.

Race 1. TOYOTA KLUGER – ULTIMATE LUXURY MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000m

HEISWOODY – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Jockey G Kliese who rode the gelding 1kg overweight rather than 0.5kg, as originally requested by Trainer A Cameron. Shifted ground under pressure down the running.

DON’T TELL LEEANNE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

SADLER’S MISS – Inconvenienced on jumping.

GULF OF AQABA – Shifted in on jumping inconveniencing a runner to its inside. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure down the running.

GYPSY KING – Over-raced in the early stages.

SHEZ THE WOLF – Hung in in the early and middle stages.

MAVERICK HENRY – Inconvenienced near the 100m. Raced wide for the majority.

THE LOUT – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 2. FILBY’S MOTORS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1810m

GHOSTED – Slowly into stride.

OWNED UP – Raced wide for the majority.

RIVER TYCOON – Became awkward in its action for a short distance passing the 1400. Tired noticeably over the concluding stages. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Following the running of this race, a delegation of Stewards and Senior Riders inspected sections of the track between the 600m and the home turn, and also past the winning post, and in considering the track suitable for racing continued on with the meeting.

Race 3. BOB & THELMA FILBY BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1470m

ASK ME TOMORROW – Slowly away.

WISE DRAGON – Slowly away.

BOLD KINGSTON – Shifted out around heels near the 150m in order to obtain clear running.

LAUDEYLOU – Raced wide for the majority.

BOOM GATE – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 4. TOYOTA HILUX - STILL UNBREAKABLE QTIS 3YO HANDICAP 1000m

WHITTY’S DREAM – Shifted in on jumping, inconveniencing a runner to its inside.

GINASUE – Inconvenienced on jumping.

Race 5. TOYOTA HYBRID RAV4 CRUISER BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000m

LINE UP – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was withdrawn by Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 3:33pm. Trainer L McCormack was advised a Veterinary clearance is required prior to next racer start. Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight, Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on LINE UP be refunded in full, and further that the following deductions, in the dollar on the face value of the betting ticket, apply to all successful wagers placed on the event prior to the time of scratching.

NO DOUBT A STAR – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority.

LIGHTHORSE LAD – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.

GO DEEP – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority.

MACNAIR (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority. Jockey N Day advised that the gelding had never travelled comfortably on today’s firmer surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

MY BEST EFFORT – Laid in under pressure down the running.

Race 6. TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 79 SERIES CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1100m

CHYNA XPRESS – Reluctant to load. Trainer C Attard was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.

ARCHIE’S LAW - Reluctant to load. Trainer C Morrison was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Inconvenienced on jumping.

GINGER MULE – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.

HERO’S CHOICE – Inconvenienced on jumping. Restrained when tightened for running near the 750m.

ONE MORE FIELD – Slowly away.

ROTHERO ESSGEE – Over-raced in the early stages. Bumped heavily by another runner approaching the 100m, becoming momentarily unbalanced. Raced wide for the majority.

BOOMKO – Shifted in near the 750m resulting in a runner to its inside having to be restrained. App T Fenlon was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a). Approaching the 100m shifted in making heavy contact with a runner to its inside.

DAWN STRIKE – Laid in down the running, having to be restrained off heels near the 150m. Raced wide for the majority.

EXPLOSIVE GIRL – Raced wide for the majority.

BASTILLE DAY – Raced wide for the majority.

IT’S A PLOY – Blundered when in clear running on straightening. Raced wide for the majority.

Race 7. TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 300 SERIES OPEN HANDICAP 1200m

HIT SNOOZE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.

BONDI BEAU – Slowly away. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.

OUR ALICIA’S LANE – Slowly away.

RAIDEN – Slowly away.

MISS BULITZ – Began awkwardly.

CRACKER ESSGEE – Raced wide in the early middle stages. Momentarily held up for clear running passing the 100m.

MICAWBER – App C Collis accidentally dropped his whip near the 50m.

Race 8. HILLERY GROUP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1280m

REAL EMPRESS – Tightened between runners on jumping.

BAY OF BENGAL - Tightened between runners on jumping.

GAIUS JULIUS – Began awkwardly. Shifted in marginally near the 300m inconveniencing a runner to its inside. Raced wide for the majority.

SHEEZ MARVELLOUS – Fractious prior to entering parade yard. Underwent a Veterinary inspection on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Over-raced in the early stages.

GETOUT OF MY NEIGH (NZ) – Inconvenienced near the 300m.

MISS SEATTLE – Raced wide for the majority.

STRATOBEL - Raced wide for the majority. App O Kendal accidentally dropped her whip passing the 300m.

SUPREME PRINCE – Trainer G Hickmott was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR106(2) after presenting the gelding to race without blinkers. Raced wide for the majority.
