GENERAL
1. Rider Michael McDonald did not attend today’s meeting after being stood down at Mount Isa due to illness on Saturday 10 May 2025. Stewards approved a rider replacement as per the race day summary.

4. The start of the meeting was delayed 20 minutes due to the on-course veterinarian encountering traffic difficulties en-route to the race meeting. The revised start time of Race 1 was 1:45pm
Race 1: BOWEN TURF CLUB BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000M
STARHATTAN – Trainer Trevor Williams was reprimand under the provisions of AR 106(1) after presenting STARHATTAN to the inspection point without pacifiers, which was part of its declared gear. Inclined to lay in over the final 300 metres.
UNDER THE LIMIT – Graham Kliese replaced Michael McDonald.
BEPPE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing on Thursday 8 May 2025 at Mackay and was passed fit to race. Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
NANO STAR – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.
FINANCE PARTNER – Raced wide throughout.
BETTER SHOW – Raced keenly throughout.
Race 2: WHITSUNDAY LAW BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1200M
ELLEVES – Bounded in the air on jumping. Inclined to lay in throughout the final straight.
OLD FASHIONED ROSE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Lay in throughout the final straight.
Race 3: LEHMANN PRINT SOLUTIONS QTIS Maiden Plate 1200M
ALPINE POWER – Came together with RAPID POWER and bumped heavily at the start. Restrained off heels for a distance in the middle stages when over-racing.
LOUIS AUGUSTE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing on Thursday 8 May 2025 at Mackay and was passed fit to race. Inclined to lay in for the early part of the home straight.
MISSIN’ DE QUO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing on Saturday 10 May 2025 at Gordonvale and was passed fit to race.
RAPID POWER – Came together with ALPINE POWER and bumped heavily at the start. Inclined to lay in throughout the final straight.
Race 4: FILBY’S MOTORS 2025 BATTLE OF THE BUSH BOWEN QUALIFIER Open Plate 1200M
GRAND DE LAGO – Slow into stride.
SIR ROCKET – Buffeted shortly after the start. Hung in under pressure over the final 300 metres.
GOSSIP TORQUE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
IMAGINE THAT – Held up and was unable to improve over the final 250 metres.
CHALKLEY – Held up rounding the home turn before obtaining clear running leaving the 250 metres. Stewards questioned David Micalief regarding the improved performance of the race winner CHALKLEY which had finished back in recent starts. In explanation Mr. Micalief stated that the gelding had benefited from chiropractic treatment during the week, and was advantaged by carrying a light weight and an economical run today.
Race 5: HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1470M
AIDENABET –. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing on Thursday 8 May 2025 at Mackay and was passed fit to race. Over-raced in the back straight; Held up in the early part of the final straight before being draw wider passing the 200 metres to improve.
IRISH MIST – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
QUEENBEEL –. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing on Saturday 10 May 2025 at Gordonvale and was passed fit to race. Settled back at the start
