12 cents in the dollar for the win
11 cents in the dollar for the place of winner
11 cents for second and 11 cents third.
Framed It – Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered an objection lodged by rider W. D’Avila, the rider of the third placed FRAMED IT against REMEMBER ROY (I. Fry)which placed second for alleged interference at the 280m. Stewards after hearing evidence from the relevant parties and viewing the stewards patrol footage, found that rider I. Fry momentarily shifted in at the 280 metres placing W. D’Avila in restricted room and causing D’Avila to momentarily ease his mount.
In the opinion of the Stewards, the tightening exceeded the beaten margin of a short half head between the two horses at the finish and therefore upheld the objection and amended the placings –
1st MIDAS STAR
2nd FRAMED IT
3rd REMEMBER ROY
4th PRIDEOFTHEBIGFISH
Prideofthebigfish – Approaching the 600m shifted in placing MADAME MOTH in restricted room momentarily and overreacted to the minor tightening becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Rider C. Whiteley reported that his mount ran on well after recovering.
Mishani Amore – Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
Cailin Alainn – App. rider S. Nielson was fined $200 for failing to ride the mare at her designated riding weight – AR190(3). As no other rider was available Stewards permitted Apprentice Nelson to ride 1.0 kg over her allocated weight.
Stood flat footed and lost ground at the start. Given all circumstances including an extended delay when attempting to load another runner for an extended period when this runner was loaded in the barriers, no further action was taken.
RACE 3: BRENT STOKER ELECTRICAL RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP – 1280M
Inala Aticus – Raced wide.
Well Rested -- Stewards permitted Apprentice Nelson to ride 1.0 kg over her allocated weight.
Look At Rosa – Raced wide.
RACE 4: FILBY’S MOTORS OPEN HANDICAP – 1280M
Divine Okay – Steadied off heels approaching the 700m and then over raced for a distance.
Higher Love – Slow to begin.
To Love Somebody – Was resaddled at the barriers causing a short delay. On return to scale rider W. D’Avila reported that his mount got its tongue over the bit and recommended to trainer M. Young that the gelding may benefit from a tongue tie.
RACE 5: BURDEKIN VET SERVICES BEN BOLT CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1470M
Medal (NZ) – Trainer S. Bush was questioned regarding the improved performance of MEDAL (NZ) in winning today compared to the horse’s previous start at Townsville on 09 August 2025 when the gelding raced below expectations. Mr Bush advised that MEDAL (NZ) likes to race with the pace on and after being handy at its previous start at Townsville on 9 August 2025, the gelding in stronger company than today’s event, was shuffled back through the field and failed to run on as expected. Specific instructions were issued to the rider today to keep the horse handy, and the horse was ridden accordingly. Mr Bush’s explanation was noted.
Raetihi (NZ) – Compounded over the concluding stages. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings.
Big Demeanor – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
