Race 1 - ZAC MCFARLANE RACING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1000M
TOUCH BASE – Bumped on jumping away.
THE HOUSE – Fractious behind the barriers. Jumped in at the start bumping with TOUCH BASE, then became unbalanced for a short distance. Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly in the final straight.
MISSILE BABY – Began awkwardly.
EXO MISS – Jumped out at the start bumping with TOUCH BASE.
REVES TIME – Shifted across the heels of EXO MISS nearing the 100 metres to continue to improve.
Race 2 - BOWEN CUP TRACKSIDE MARQUEE CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1470M
FARAWAY DOWNS – Raced keenly in the back straight.
AIRWAVES – Raced wide rounding the first turn prior to being taken forward to lead.
ELITE GATHERING – Laid in under pressure through the early part of the home straight.
FLOURISH – Raced wide without cover throughout when keen. Gave ground over the concluding stages and finished well back. Apprentice Samantha Pointon reported that the mare had never travelled at any stage. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
VAGABOND PRINCE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the early part home straight.
Race 3 - FILBY'S MOTORS BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1470M
BANG STICK – Blundered on jumping away however recovered quickly.
FISTSOFFURY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Momentarily forced wider near the 1200 metres.
LONE FORCE – Raced keenly in the early stages.
BALLANDELLA STREET – Commenced to hang out from the 600 metres and could not be ridden to advantage thereafter, finishing well back. Trainer David Jones was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
Race 4 - RACING IN THE WHITSUNDAYS OPEN HANDICAP 1200M
HELLISH – Stewards spoke with Apprentice Samantha Pointon, who was assisted by senior rider Nathan Thomas, regarding the tactics adopted during the race where the gelding raced clear in the lead through the middle stages. In explanation, Apprentice Pointon stated that her instructions were to lead and then put pressure into the race from the 600 metres, however after reaching the lead and racing freely, HELLISH had little left when pressured. After reviewing vision of the race, Apprentice Pointon acknowledged that she was unaware of the lead she had established and in hindsight, it may have been more advantageous to attempt to ease the tempo at that point in the race. Given all circumstances, no further action was required.
OUTBACK ACTION – Laid in under pressure throughout the home straight.
Race 5 - BOWEN CUP - SAT 10TH OCTOBER MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000M
CAVALIER DANCER – Bounded on jumping and bumped heavily shortly after.
AUZANGATE – Tightened at the start. Raced wide with cover throughout.
KNIGHTS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival at the track and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin.
CERETTI – Fractious prior to the start. Began awkwardly.
QUEEN OF RUSSIA – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping with VAN DER WOODSEN. Laid in through the early part of the home straight.
PULSATING – Blundered on jumping and became unbalanced then shifted in abruptly hampering MO SPIRIT. Laid out leaving the 200 metres resulting in TOI TOI having to steady.
BELINDA'S RUBI – Bounded on jumping and shifted out bumping heavily with CAVALIER DANCER. Raced wide with cover throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
TOI TOI – Jumped out at the start tightening AUZANGATE. Had to be steadied leaving the 200 metres when awkwardly placed at the heels of PULSATING after laying in then continued to lay in for the remainder of the event.
TOWERS HILL – Jumped in at the start tightening AUZANGATE. Raced wide without cover throughout.
GOING MY WAY – Began awkwardly. Crowded and had to be restrained near the 850 metres, when awkwardly placed to the inside of CERETTI which shifted in when improving forward to the lead. Apprentice Julie Busuttin (CERETTI) was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) and was reminded of her obligations when racing in similar circumstances.
MO SPIRIT – Hampered on jumping.
VAN DER WOODSEN – Bounded on jumping away. Crowded and had to steady passing the 900 metres after being crowded for several strides when inside QUEEN OF RUSSIA which shifted in when not clear. Rider Ben Kennedy (QUEEN OF RUSSIA) was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) and was advised to take greater care when in similar circumstances. Over-raced throughout. Laid in near the 400 metres and had to be corrected.
Race 6 - GET YOUR TICKES TO BOWEN CUP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000M
ELECTRIC BRAE – Very slow into stride. Struggled to regain the ground lost through the middle stages. When questioned, rider Paul Hammersley stated that the mare would derive benefit from today’s run and added that ELECTRIC BRAE would be better suited to races to a longer distance along with the addition of blinkers.
EXCELBOOM – Bumped on jumping. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
HOT TORQUE INVEGAS – When questioned regarding the performance, rider Adam Sewell stated that the mare failed to respond when placed under pressure and was disappointing. Rider Sewell added that HOT TORQUE INVEGAS may not have appreciated the firmness of today’s racing surface.
SOUTH BULLAWAY – Began awkwardly.
SPINELESS – Began awkwardly.
MR DAMAGE – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping with EXCELBOOM. Raced wide in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
Race 7 - SPORTSBET CLASS 3 PLATE (3YO & UP) 1200M
BETTER BREAKOUT – Jumped out at the start hampering ROYAL ARMADA.
HE'S THE ONE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing on Saturday 12th September 2026 at Mackay and was declared fit to race. Began awkwardly.
CRAICARO – Raced wide without cover throughout.
GROVERS PREDICTION – Raced wide with cover throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure through the home straight.
ROYAL ARMADA – Hampered on jumping, losing ground
HE’S THE ONE – Began awkwardly.
