RACE 2: MIDWAY BUTCHERS CLASS B HANDICAP 1100m
 
CRAIGLEA JAZZ – Trainer Mr T. Rowe reported that the mare underwent a veterinary examination on 6/12/17, which included an ECG, and was found to have abnormalities in its cardiac arrhythmia. Mr Rowe advised that the mare would now be retired from racing.
 
RACE 1: DUGGAN BULK HAULAGE QTIS Maiden Plate 1000m
 
SOME FAIRY SONG – Stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. Jockey C. Jokic stated that after beginning poorly the filly raced greenly in the early stages of the race. Trainer T. Kenny was advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners.
 
PRINCE OF MINE – Began awkwardly shifting out bumping another runner and lost ground.
 
NAUGHTY BUT NICE – Was hampered when bumped by another runner at the start.
 
HAMMERTONE – Slow into stride after beginning awkwardly. Jockey M. Haley stated that after beginning awkwardly, the colt raced greenly in the early stages, before improving forward from the 600m.
 
JUST PRETENDS – Jockey D. Ballard was permitted to ride the gelding 1kg over its allotted weight as no other suitable rider was available. Raced 3 wide without cover in the early stages.
 
GENERAL CHEVAL – Raced 4 wide without cover in the early stages.
 
 
 
 
RACE 2: DLV FINANCE Benchmark 45 Handicap 1000m
 
HI MACKAY – Jockey K. Aho advised the mare resented the kickback and raced ungenerously.  Trainer T. Parry advised the mare would be retired from racing.
 
DUNNYS STAR – Raced very wide for the majority of the race. Shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider after passing the winning post resulting in another runner having to be checked.
 
FOREST MAGIC – Raced very wide for the majority of the race. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. Had to be checked after passing the winning post when another runner shifted in abruptly.
 
RACE 3: QUEENSLAND RURAL OPEN Handicap 1000m
 
CHECKOUT ME TRAVLA – Bumped with another runner on jumping and was subsequently slow to begin.
 
DON’T TELL PETE - Bumped by another runner on jumping and lost ground.
 
AZTEC WARRIOR – Slow into stride. Jockey K. Aho advised the filly resented the kickback and was shifted wider allowing it improve into the race.
 
ANZUS – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which raced below market expectations, App R. Shred stated that she expected ANZUS to be competitive today and was disappointed with its performance. App Shred further stated that after beginning well and taking up an early lead her mount was then disappointing from the 500m and failed to respond to her riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken. Trainer O. Cairns was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s inconsistent performances under LR25.
 
RACE 4: ELDERS Benchmark 55 Handicap 1200m
 
WHO’S YOUR CADDY – Very fractious in the mounting yard. Began awkwardly shifted out bumping with another runner and lost ground.
 
ALLUDER – Bumped by another runner at the start and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority.
 
STELLAR KNIGHT – Shifted out at the start bumping another runner and lost ground.
 
SPLASH OUT - Bumped by another runner on jumping and lost ground.
 
RACING HARADA - Bumped by another runner on jumping and lost ground.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
RACE 5: CURLEY’S TRANSPORT Class 3 Plate 1400m
 
SOUTHERN ALBATROSS – Slow to begin. Ridden hard in the early stages to obtain a lead near the 1000m.
 
NO ANGEL HERE – Jockey K. Aho advised the mare resented the kickback. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
MORE NORTHERLY – Raced 4 wide without cover in the early stages.
