GENERAL
The following runners were scratched by order of Stewards as no suitable riders, or riders were available;
Race1: MISS RAPIDE, Race 2: KOBE ASCOT, Race 4: AMARANTZ, Race 5: LEGISLATE
Race 1:PRESIDENT & COMMITTEE CWRC BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1050m
MISTER – Raced wide for the majority. When questioned jockey L Tilley stated that when placed under pressure near the 500m his mount didn’t respond and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
ZOUPHISTICATE – Raced wide for the majority.
HINOKI WOOD – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to a long spell. Slow into stride. Jockey B Newport reported that in his opinion his mount did not appreciate the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
Race 2:TONY FACEY MEMORIAL QTIS CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200m
MY SYMBOL – Bumped on jumping. When questioned jockey B Newport stated his mount travelled well until near the 400m when placed under pressure proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
LUCKY FORCE - Blundered then bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
IL TORO D'ORO – Slow to begin.
Race 3:MELBOURNE CUP CALCUTTA 3RD NOVEMBER BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1100m
UCHI – Began awkwardly and slow into stride.
RED TOFFEE – Began awkwardly, then restrained when placed awkwardly onto heels.
WORTHY MOVES – Shifted out on jumping. Jockey B Newport reported the gelding raced off the bit from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
BONTOBEWILD – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 4:THE CATTLE CAMP HOTEL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1625m
KARIACTION – Began awkwardly and slow away. Raced wide for the majority.
LIP SIP SUK – Bumped on jumping. Near the 1100m was awkwardly placed on heels of SHEZAVIXEN and momentarily restrained.
SHEZAVIXEN - Went amiss near the 1100m and was pulled up by its rider. An immediate veterinary examination revealed an injury to the near fore cannon bone and the mare was subsequently euthanised on humane grounds. Post-mortem samples were taken for analysis.
TIME TO TESTIFY – Bumped on jumping.
Race 5:CHARLEVILLE CUP 4TH NOVEMBER OPEN PLATE 1400m
CAFFREY (IRE) – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
FLANK SPEED – Laid out rounding the home turn.
DECIDUOUS – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure from the 200m to 100m.
AL ASH LAD – Began awkwardly throwing its head in the air for a number of strides and was slow away.
Race 6:BOORINGA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1200m
ROLL UP – Raced wide for the majority.
PESHWA – Knuckled on jumping and was slow away.
WARRAH FLASH – Knuckled on jumping and was slow away. Raced wide for the majority.
MISTREY EMPEROR – Laid out in the home straight.
TRANSCELTIC - Raced wide for the majority. Jockey R Tilley was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out to the finish line.
