WEATHER: OVERCAST- TRACK RATING – GOOD/ DIRT- RAIL: TRUE

GENERAL
 
Riders raised safety concerns to Stewards regarding the 1625, 1400m and the 1000m chutes. Stewards conducted a further inspection with the riders and after consultation and assistance from the Club remedial work was performed on the chutes. A further inspection was undertaken with the riders being satisfied with the overall condition and safety of the chutes and the meeting proceeded with the only exception was Race 2, the 1000m start was adjusted to 1050m and held on the course proper. As a result, the following starting times were amended:
Race 1- 2.20pm,
Race 2- 2.50pm,
Race 3- 3.30pm,
Race 4- 4.00pm and
Race 5- 4.35pm.  
Due to no other riders being available Stewards permitted Jky C Rogers to ride + 1.5 kgs overweight on the following: Race 2- SILVANNA’S SONG, Race 2- KARAKAROO- Jky M Gray + .5kg.
 
Race 1: GORDON LINES MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
 
NYTHE- Bumped at the start.
 
PLEA- Slow to begin. Bumped with OAKFIELD MONTANA at the start. On returning to scale Jky R Tilley advised Stewards that his mount slipped as the start was affected. Stewards noted his comments. Stewards acting under the provision of AR132(7)(a)(i) reprimanded Jky R Tilley for his use of the whip on 3 consecutive occasions prior to the 100m.
 
SAMURAI WAND- Began awkwardly and bumped with NYTHE as the start was affected. Raced towards the rear of the field while racing wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DANCING TROFFEA- Began awkwardly and veered out after the start, raced towards the rear of the field for the majority while travelling wide, then began to improve into the race from the 400m.
 
OAKFIELD MONTANA- Bumped with another runner at the start after racing competitively for the majority began to weaken noticeably from the top of the home straight. Due to the seemingly disappointing performance of the filly, Stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination be undertaken. This examination failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
Race 2: BRUCE AIR AND ELECTRICAL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000M
 
A LOT OF BOOTY- Raced wide with cover during the early- middle stages of the event. Began to improve into the race from the 400m and finished the race off strongly over the final stages of the event.
 
INTENSE STEEL- Began awkwardly.
 
CORVALIST- Bumped at the start with SILVANNA’;S SONG. Travelled wide for the majority of the event.
 
VIKING TREASURE- Due to the below market performance of the filly today, stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination be undertaken. This examination failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
LADY DUTTON- Laid in during the early stages of the event.
 
BOSS BANDIT- Began awkwardly and lost ground. After racing towards the rear of the field for the majority of the event began to improve into the race from the 400m and ran on well over the concluding stages.
 
SILVANNA’S SONG- Stewards permitted Jky C Rogers to ride 1.5 kg above the allocated weight due to no other rider being available. Bumped with another runner at the start.
 
KARAKAROO- Began awkwardly and jumped in. Stewards permitted Jky M Gray to ride +.5kg over his allotted weight.
 
Race 3:  MOODY RACING BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1625M
 
PACKAGE- Slow to begin. Raced towards the rear of the field for some distance before improving into the race from the top of the straight and ran on well over the concluding stages.
 
HOWSE- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ARMSTRONG BAY- Due to the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination be undertaken. This examination failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
IL TORO D’ORO- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MUIRON- After beginning well obtained a forward position while racing wide, began to weaken noticeably in the home straight.
 
THIRTEENTH MAN- A pre-race veterinary examination was undertaken, this examination failed to detect any abnormalities. Ran on well over the final stages of the event.
 
Race 4: FRANK CAVANOUGH MEMORIAL QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400M
 
LUCKY FORCE- Tended to lay in while racing in the home straight.
 
BORN FEARLESS- Laid in during the early stages, raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
EDWARDS- Raced towards the rear of the field for the majority, ran on well over the final stages of the event.
 
MAKERS- Weakened noticeably from the top of the home straight.
 
DUN WITH ROSES- Ran on strongly from the top of the straight over the final stages while travelling wide. Tended to lay in while racing in the home straight before being correct by the rider.
 
Race 5: CATTLE CAMP HOTEL CHARLEVILLE OPEN HANDICAP 1200M
 
VICTORY BAY- Began to improve into the race from the 400m and ran on well over the concluding stages.
 
DECIDUOUS- Bumped with VOLDEMORT at the start. Tended to lay in during the early stages before being corrected by the rider.
 
TURNSTAR- Stewards accepted and noted Trainer Mr L Baker’s submission regarding Jky C Rogers being able to make the allocated  weight and subsequently declared her a late rider due to no other rider being available. Raced wide with cover early- middle stages of the event.
 
WITHOUT SHAME- Slow to begin.
 
VOLDEMORT- Bumped with another runner at the start, then raced towards the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
 
OAKFIELD BADGER- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
UPTURN Began awkwardly and blundering badly as the start was affected. After racing handy for the majority began to weaken noticeably over the final stages. Stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination be undertaken. This examination failed to detect any abnormalities.
