Tenor Lass – Slow to begin.
Canny Say – Raced three wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn forcing another runner to the outside wider of the track.
Caught Red Handed – Began awkwardly, Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
Chamberlain – Raced wide without cover throughout. Forced wider rounding the home turn by another runner to the inside.
Race 2 - BLACK TRUCK SALES CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200m
Last Cigar – Refused to load. Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at .., Stewards ordered that all monies invested in Last Cigar be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
0 cents in the dollar for the win - #7
8 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #7
5 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #1
6 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #6
Trainer R. Connolly was advised the gelding would require a barrier certificate prior to returning to race.
BIANCATAK – Upon returning to scale, Jockey R. Goldsbury reported that her mount was inclined to hang out throughout.
ANGEL OF WAR – Jockey Josh King was reprimanded under AR.190(3) for accepting a ride in which he was overweight. Replacements as per stewards summary.
Race 3 - VIC BLACK MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1200m
Bubba Rocker – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with another runner to the outside. Raced greenly throughout.
APPLAUSE A STAR – Tightened for room shortly after the start by another runner to the inside. Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 800m before taking a wider position on the track.
HOT VINNI – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with another runner to the inside.
Race 4 - NOBBY'S TRANSPORT MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. Set Weights– 1400m
Crooked Arrow – Dipped at the start and lost ground.
Sly Grin – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with another runner to the outside.
More Of Mary – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
Bootifulblue – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Raced wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages.
Meatball – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with another runner to the inside.
Mudmeister – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 5 - MCDONALDS OPEN HANDICAP – 1400m
The Amateur – Began awkwardly.
Vantaggio – Began awkwardly.
I’m No Ruby – Raced wide without cover throughout.
Johnny Be Quick – Approaching the 1000m was placed in restricted room and was forced to restrain off heels when Red Prince shifted in. Apprentice B. Mackie, the rider of Red Prince, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR.131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Johnny Be Quick causing that runner to check and lose ground. Apprentice Mackie’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight days commencing midnight 2/3/2019 and ending midnight 10/3/2019.
