OFFICIALS
Stewards – S Coulthard, W Glass, Z Lines (Cadet).

GENERAL
This meeting was conducted under the regulations of the QRIC Caring for Animals Extreme Heat Policy.
Stewards permitted the following overweight:
Race 4: N Fazackerley +2.5kg (No other suitable riders available)
 
Race 1: RACK ATTACK PEST CONTROL MAIDEN PLATE 1070 M

ATHOL MAC – Raced wide throughout.

GLUTTONY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
NASIRON – Awkwardly placed on heels when laying out over the concluding stages. Apprentice S Bailey reported her mount had a tendency to hang throughout.
 
JUST A SORT – Apprentice O Kendall reported the mare was green throughout and when placed under pressure did not let down as expected, she further added, that in her opinion, the mare would derive benefit from today’s run. Apprentice O Kendal was reminded of her obligation to ride her mount out to the finish line.
 
RUBY DU JEU – Raced wide throughout.
 
DANCING TROFFEA – Slow to muster early speed. Held up for clear running from the 100m to 50m before shifting out to obtain clear running.


Race 2: LAWRENCE & HANSON BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP  1070 M

ESTE DIA – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

SWEETPEA MOOCHI – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
RELATED DUTY – Began awkwardly.

XUANFENG – Began awkwardly. Performed below expectations, a post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.  
 
SAVVY SONG – Raced wide throughout.
 
DUCHESS OF ARGYLL - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
EASY COME – Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure from the 100m. Apprentice I Jessop reported the gelding hung throughout.

PREVARICATE - Slow into stride.

Race 3: TRISH TRICKY'S CLEANING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200 M

SACHEM – Apprentice B Baker reported the gelding resented the kick back and failed to travel comfortably throughout.            
 
MR WANDJI – Began awkwardly. Cast off-hind plate during running.

REGGAE FIRE – Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
 
SCARLETT THUNDER – Began fairly.
 
ALPINE RAIDER –Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of tying up.       

BLACK COUNTRY – Raced keen early.


Race 4: WDC CHINCHILLA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400 M

GANBARE - When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice T Orr reported that when placed under pressure the gelding failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
UNDER THE CAP – Raced wide throughout.

UNLEASH – As no other suitable riders were available Stewards permitted jockey N Fazackerley to ride +2.5kg (57.5). N Fazackerley was fined $100 under the provisions of AR190(3). Stewards accepted the reasons for the late declaration of rider.  

MICRO  - Upon returning to scale jockey W O’Connell was treated by QAS for exhaustion and stood down by Stewards for his remaining ride. Mr. O’Connell was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to race riding again.
 
PACKAGE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.      
 
ROYAL CHARGE – Began very awkwardly. Laid in under pressure from the 100m.         

Race 5: FIRST NATIONAL REAL ESTATE QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400 M

GEE AND TEE (NZ) – Lost near-hind plate in running.

TIME TO TESTIFY – Awkwardly placed on heels shortly after the start when of MISHANI PERSUASSION (App B Baker) shifted out. Apprentice B Baker was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for this incident. Raced wide throughout. Cast off-hind and off-fore plates during running.  
 
BLAME THE WHISKEY - Raced keen in the middle stages.
 
WANT TO BE PROUD –. Bumped with DEL TITO near the 900m. Restrained passing the 800m when DEL TITO laid in on the point of the turn despite the efforts of its rider.

DEL TITO –. Bumped with WANT TO BE PROUD near the 900m. Apprentice R O’Connell reported the gelding laid in throughout running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near-fore knee. Trainer C Geran was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again.
 
AIN'T TELLIN – Stewards accepted the reasons for the late declaration of rider.  Cast off-fore plate in running.     
 
DEFYING – Enroute to barriers made contact with the Stewards vehicle and underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers. Began fairly.           Trainer M Currie was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its pre-race manners. Mr Currie advised that in his opinion the gelding resented the cross over nose band and would he be removing it from its racing gear.
 
DUN WITH ROSES – App B Harrison replaced W O’Connell as no other senior riders were available.      
 
JAMAICAN – Fractious in barriers, got its leg up just prior to jumping and start and was slow to begin. Trainer G Baker was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its barrier manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
