HELLUVAPUNCH – slow to begin then outpaced in the early stages.
BOOGIEWITHMAHBABY – slow into stride and struggled to maintain contact with the field in the middle stages.

RACE 2: CLONCURRY & DISTRICT RACE CLUB RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP 1000 M

NOBLE RUBY – when questioned regarding the run of NOBLE RUBY, which performed below market expectations, Apprentice Maddie Mankelow advised that the mare was not comfortable on today’s racing surface and in addition was inclined to lay out throughout.
BUSTERKICK – slow into stride.
TENGUN ANNIE – had to steady near the 400 metres when attempting to improve into a narrow run inside OUTCAST SOLDIER (Nor Yadi), when that runner shifted in. Rider Yadi was advised to exercise greater care. Held up for the majority of the final straight and near the 75 metres again had to steady when HELLARAMA (Shane McGovern) lay in under riding. Rider McGovern was advised of his obligations to maintain his correct line of running when circumstances permit.

RACE 3: EVOLUTION MINING ERNEST HENRY OPERATIONS QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE

ELIE JOE – hung out and failed to make the final turn correctly, running very wide and losing considerable ground and its winning chance. Trainer Ms. Kim McGovern was advised that a warning had been placed on ELIE JOE’s racing manners.
RED SUTURE – began awkwardly.
BUZ FUZ – inclined to race greenly throughout and ducked out abruptly passing the 200 metres hampering MAKANUI, which had to steady.

MAKANUI – hampered near the 200 metres and had to steady.

RACE 4: CLONCURRY & DISTRICT RACE CLUB BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 M

MANIC LIGHT – began awkwardly and was slow away. Apprentice Mitch Goring was advised that exercise greater care after briefly crowding I’M OPINIONATED near the 900 metres when improving forward.
CUP OF AMBITION – slow into stride; rider Robbie Faehr reported that the gelding mare resented the kick-back in the early and middle stages however after being drawn wide into clear running, had felt more comfortable and had gone to the line well.
DIOSA – when questioned regarding the performance of DIOSA rider Jason Hoopert started that the mare, which was having her first start on a dirt track, felt uncomfortable of the racing surface and had failed to come onto the bridle at any stage of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of DIOSA revealed no obvious abnormality.
I’M OPINIONATED – briefly crowded near the 900 metres.
THREEFOLD – lay in rounding the final turn; Rider Shane McGovern was reminded of his obligations regarding the use of the whip in the home straight. Whilst it initially appeared that rider McGovern may have used the whip excessively, Stewards, upon review of the available footage, were satisfied that he had applied the whip to his mount only on every second stride, with the intervening arm movements being in the nature of a flourish rather than excessive strikes.
