GENERAL
1. The following horses were scratched due to there being no rider available.
FLY FIFER; CHAPARRAL CHASE; LORD VALEN; RISKY INVESTMENT; KWIK AS HELL; POLLY HOFFA; SNIPILLICIOUS; VONK; LAST DITCH EFFORT; REVVED UP READY; THREEFOLD.
RACE 1: EVOLUTION MINING MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M
FALKLAND – gave ground in the middle stages and finished well back; When questioned Apprentice Maddie Mankelow stated, that in her opinion, the gelding had not been comfortable in its action and had failed to stretch out at any part of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer Ms. Tanya Parry was advised that a final warning had been placed on the racing performance of FALKLAND.
RACE 2: BULL CREEK BEEF BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000 M
MAKANUI – travelled wide throughout.
CUP OF AMBITION – crowded after leaving the barriers and settled back; lost contact in the middle stages; rider Robbie Faehr reported the mare had been unsuited to the kickback in the early stages however once taken wider and come on to the bridle and made some ground. Rider Faehr added, that in his opinion, CUP OF AMBITION would be suited to a longer distance.
OUTCAST SOLDIER – proved difficult to load – warning placed.
RACE 3: BRODIE HARDWARE & RURAL QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200 M
DANCE WIZZARD – shifted in crowding YALLA for several strides near the 1,000 metres. Apprentice Mitch Goring was advised to exercise greater care when crossing.
YALLA – placed in restricted room for several strides near the 1,000 metres when DANCE WIZARD improved forward to the lead.
POCKET PICKER – raced greenly throughout.
RACE 4: AUZSCOT CONSTRUCTIONS 2026 BATTLE OF THE BUSH CLONCURRY QUALIFIER OPEN PLATE 1200 M
HURRICANE THUNDER – hung out throughout. Apprentice Maddie Mankelow reported that in her opinion HURRICANE THUNDER may have struck itself in the running which had contributed to its hanging tendencies, with Apprentice Mankelow advising that she was unable to fully test the gelding in the final straight.. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer Ms. Toni Schofield undertook to report any relevant matter to the Stewards that may become apparent in coming days.
PENNYPACKER – began very awkwardly and got back.
RACE 5: CLONCURRY COPPERS CLUB BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400 M
ZOUHOPE – began awkwardly however recovered quickly.
SHEZ LETHAL – held up briefly passing the 500 metres.
