Race 1: 100 CLUB ON SALE OPEN H’CAP – 1250M
 
CRAIGLEA ALDI – Shifted wider leaving the 500m and became unbalanced and rounding the home turn again shifted wider.
 
STARANTE – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 2: ALIVE PHARMACY QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1250M
 
MIRACLES APLENTY – After becoming fractious in the wash bay area prior to the start, the horse was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race. Slow to begin.
 
BUNDY BOY became very fractious in the barriers prior to the start, dislodging rider S. Wiseman. The gelding was declared a late scratching at 2:46 pm by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on BUNDY BOY be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:46 pm:

0 cents in the dollar for the win #1
0 cents in the dollar for place of winner #1
2 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #6
3 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #4
 
Trainer T. Rowe was advised that he must provide a further barrier certificate before the horse would be permitted to start again. Rider S. Wiseman was examined by ambulance officers and cleared to fulfil her further engagements.
 
AETHERIUS – Lost it’s near fore plate during the race.
 
 
ROCKETHEAD – Had a tendency to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 3: THE JACK WILSON MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 950M
 
GINGERSNAP – Shifted out at the start, bumping another runner.
 
FLYING ONE MORE – Slow to begin.
 
DANCING DIVA – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
RYLEE’S SAGA – Shifted out at the start, making contact with another runner. Bumped by another runner near the 200m.
 
ABITAZAR – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
A LITTLE BIT MORE – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Shifted out near the 200m, bumping another runner.
 
Race 4: CARLTON MID MAIDEN H’CAP – 950M
 
The start of this race was delayed significantly due to a rider requiring ambulance attention. As a result of the delay, all runners were removed from the barriers before being reloaded again.
 
ELECTRIC SHOCK, which was fractious during its preliminary and became very fractious in the barriers prior to the start, was declared a late scratching at 4:06 pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer S. Massingham was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s parading manners, and in addition, he must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to the horse being permitted to start again.
 
MBWALI became fractious in the barriers as a result of another runner becoming fractious. When dismounting from the horse, rider S. Wiseman was kicked by another runner, requiring ambulance attention. Ms Wiseman was then transported to Cairns Hospital for further observation. MBWALI was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 4:06 pm.
 
On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on ELECTRIC SHOCK and MBWALI be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 4:06 pm:

8 cents in the dollar for the win #9
17 cents in the dollar for place of winner #9
4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #3
21 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #2
 
VICTORMATIC – Slow to begin.
 
FAIRMONT – Raced ungenerously throughout and raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LAPELS – Had a tendency to lay in leaving the 800m and near the 600m shifted in, inconveniencing another runner, before being corrected.
 
TURF ROMPA – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly for the majority of the event. Inconvenienced by another runner near the 600m. Shifted out abruptly near the 150m, having to be corrected.
 
Due to the significant delay in the start of this race, the starting times of Races 5 and 6 were amended to 4:52 pm and 5:36 pm respectively.
 
Race 5: BILLY COOK MEMORIAL CLASS 3 PLATE – 1250M
 
SUPER SHOES – Began awkwardly. Shifted in near the 50m, hampering another runner.
 
CENTRE RED – Slow to begin.
 
CONTEMPLATE – Momentarily hampered by another runner which shifted in near the 50m.
 
FEMALE OFFICER – Slow to begin. Hampered by another runner near the 800m. Shifted wider to improve leaving the 700m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
PERFECTIONIST – Slow to begin. Shifted in near the 800m, hampering another runner.
 
Race 6: MAN OVERBOARD BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1600M
 
REGAL EMBRACE – Overraced in the early stages.
 
POWER OF DIVAS – Overraced in the early stages.
 
VIVA LAS VEGAS – Slow to begin.
