Race 1: NQPS SECURITY QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres
 
ALI'S JAB – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

BELLE ADELE – Slow to begin.
 
BIKIE CHIC – The saddle shifted back on jumping placing jockey N. Day at disadvantage throughout the race. Shifted in becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of WAR SINGA approaching the winning post and was steadied. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.                                                
                                                    
JAY KAY CEE – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.                                      
 
LA FURIOSO – Made the 600 metre crossing awkwardly.                                 
 
MIDNIGHT RAIDER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.                                     
 
WAR SINGA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.                                                                             
          
Race 2: PHOENIX CONTRACTING QLD OPEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres  
 
Due to a mechanical issue with the barriers causing them to open prematurely, CHAPEL ROAD came out riderless, after galloping a considerable distance CHAPEL ROAD was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 12.14pm. LUSHAN which worked strongly following the false start was also declared a late scratching at 12.14pm by order of stewards acting veterinary advice. EL SHADAY, HARD YAGA and TELL EVERYBODY were all examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.  Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on CHAPEL ROAD and LUSHAN were to be refunded with the following deductions to be made applicable to winning bets made prior to 12.14pm.
 
36 cents in the dollar for the win.  
42 cents in the dollar for the place.
 
CHAPEL ROAD – A post-race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood in one nostril and also superficial lacerations in the nose area. It was the opinion such bleeding was attributable to external trauma. It also revealed the gelding to lame in the off fore-leg. Trainer S. Massingham was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior the horse racing again.
 
Race 3: CAIRNS CAR BROKERS MAIDEN PLATE Set Weights – 950 Metres   
 
DEECATH – Slow to begin.
                                                    
MCKENZIE WILL DO – After being slow to begin, shifted inwards shortly after the start when crowded for room by SMOKIN’ TOMMY which shifted in and in doing so bumped ALL BAR SURAH on the hindquarters.
 
SASSI ASSASSIN – Slow to begin.
                                             
ALL BAR SURAH – Bumped on the hindquarters soon after the start and became unbalanced.   
 
SMOKIN' TOMMY – Shifted in shortly after the start hampering MCKENZIE WILL DO. Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MISS HINTERLAND – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 4: COREY MACHAN SHEETMETAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1) – 950 Metres
 
FIREFIGHT – Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer S. Massingham in relation to the late declaration of J. Stanley as the rider of the gelding.
          
BOUGATSA – Delayed the start after becoming fractious in the barriers. Underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. When asked to explain the gelding’s performance jockey Z. Lloyd stated that after being fractious in the barriers it was slow to begin and then resented the kick back on the heavy track. He further stated that in his opinion the gelding would be better suited to a longer distance than that of today’s event. Trainer S. Massingham agreed with Z. Lloyds comments and their explanations were noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.             
                                                    
MANOORA PRINCESS – Fractious in its preliminary and made contact with the mounting yard fence prior to entering the track, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Delayed the start after becoming fractious in the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 1.25pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. All monies invested on MANOORA PRINCESS were ordered to be refunded, deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1.25PM:
 
4 cents in the dollar for the win VIENNA SPIRIT  
6 cents in the dollar for the place of winner VIENNA SPIRIT   
6 cents in the dollar for 2nd place WRONGFULLY YOURS
5 cents in the dollar for 3rd place FREEFICA
 
Trainer B. Thomson was advised that she will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance and a further barrier certificate prior to the filly racing again.
 
Race 5: VOTE THE HARROVIAN CLASS 1 HANDICAP (2) – 950 Metres
 
COULD YOU BE LOVED – Bumped on jumping.             
 
FOX STREET – Jumped in at the start bumping UTAH GET ME TWO.           
 
SCARAMOUCHE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.      
 
TATACHILLA – Steadied shortly after the start when racing in restricted room.  Raced wide for the majority of the race.          
 
UTAH GET ME TWO – Bumped on jumping and shifted in bumping COULD YOU BE LOVED.       Shifted out abruptly leaving the 200 metres having to be corrected.
                                             
WILLYGOOD – Due to a misunderstanding when being plated, permission was granted for the gelding to race in standard plates instead of its advertised gear of front bar plates. This was advertised via media outlets. Rider W. D’Avila advised stewards on returning to scale the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit during running.    
 
Race 6: ASH MOSELEY HOMES MAIDEN PLATE Set Weights – 1250 Metres
 
CHARLI BELLA – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.                              
                                             
RUN RAMPANT – Shifted its off fore plate behind the barriers, as it was not able to be replaced permission was granted for the other plate to be removed. Slow to begin.
                                                    
SHUTTER MONKEY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
                                                    
STARS AT WAR – Slow to begin.                                       
 
Race 7: UNDERWOOD PARTY HIRE CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
 
CASH RAIDER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
         
EL OF A SAGA – Over-raced in the early stages of the race.
          
SHUNTER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and shifted in near the 150 metres bumping THE GROOM. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.

THE GROOM – Bumped near the 150 metres and became momentarily unbalanced. Rider Z. Lloyd was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts right out to the finish of the race.     
 
Race 8: CORAL COAST CATERING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
 
SERIOUSNESS – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.   
  
ENDORSE – Compounded in the home straight. Rider C. Whiteley stated the gelding failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. Trainer S. Massingham advised stewards he was disappointed with its overall performance and it would now be sent for immediate spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
 
CAT IN THE RAINE – Stewards questioned rider E. Cass into the tactics adopted today on the filly. Ms Cass explained her instructions were to ride forward from the wide barrier and in hindsight may have erred in not taking a sit behind the leader in middle stages. Stewards advised Ms Cass they would expect a better judged ride than she displayed today from a rider of her experience. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a slow post-race recovery.                 
          
Race 9: FGF BITUMEN BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres
 
BALMACEDA – Saddle shifted during its preliminary resulting in it having to be resaddled behind the barriers.                       
   
LOVE FLIES – After being slow to begin was than inconvenienced by PURE REBEL which shifted in. Lost its off fore plate during running.                 
          
PURE REBEL – Jumped inwards at the start inconveniencing LOVE FLIES. Forced wider near the 800 metres and raced wide from that point onwards.
     
STYLE LINE – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages and shifted out near the 800 metres forcing PURE REBEL wider.     
A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
AT DUSK – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
Race 10: HIGGINS COASTINGS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
 
TRIGGER – As rider M. Abe was indisposed and no other suitable rider was available S. Wilson was permitted to ride the gelding ½ kilogram over its allotted weight. M. Abe was advised he must provide a medical clearance prior to his next race ride. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.             
 
NEWSTEAD – Slow to begin.
 
PEONY ROSE – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously passing the 1000 metres and made the 900 metre turn awkwardly and shifted out inconveniencing COUSIN MUSCLES. Rider W. D’Avila advised the mare was not comfortable on today’s track conditions.
 
PURRFECTIONIST – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
         
COUSIN MUSCLES – Inconvenienced near the 900 metres when racing in restricted room having to be steadied. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to its off hind leg.                             
 
PONDEROSO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
          
SPEED EIGHT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.     
          
RIGEL – Rider J. Stanley advised stewards on returning to scale that in his opinion the gelding was not entirely comfortable on today’s track conditions.
