GENERAL
 
As apprentice J. Edwards was not riding at today’s meeting she was replaced as per stewards race day summary.
 
Race 1: Beers & Bubbles Cairns Cup tickets on Sale QTIS Two-Years-Old and Three 950 metres
 
MISS TITTLE TAT – Slow into stride.
 
PURPLE SONG – Slow to begin.
 
SHATTER PROOF – Began awkwardly. Checked near the 500 metres after improving onto heels when the pace slackened.

ANTIQUE LACE – Rider S. Wilson was asked to explain why the filly lost ground near the 500 metres causing SHATTER PROOF which was following to be checked. Jockey Wilson explained that after being ridden hard to obtain the lead the filly when being steadied dropped the bit which placed jockey Stanley in an awkward position. Jockey Wilson further explained the filly was still quite green only having its fourth race start today. Whilst stewards noted the comments jockey Wilson was advised to show greater care.

WHITTYKITTY – Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 400 metres.
 
ENDINAYE – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
DENISE'S PRIDE – Raced wide rounding the home turn.  
Race 2: The Stables Cairns Cup tickets on Sale QTIS Two-Years Old and Three Old - 950 metres
 
BRAVE INTENT – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners. Blundered at the 700 metres crossing.

CHATEAU ROYALE – Bumped on jumping. Following the running of this race jockey M. Abe was stood down after becoming ill. Jockey Abe was advised he must provide a medical clearance prior to his next race ride.

MISHANI JEWEL – After being initially slow to begin was then bumped.

BURNE JONES – Shifted in at the start bumping BORGOV. Raced wide rounding the home-turn.

BORGOV – Bumped on jumping. Steadied near the 100 metres when crowded for room.
 
VANCOUVER LIGHTS – Shifted inwards on jumping hampering runners to its inside.
 
FLYING ARTIST – Trainer S. Massingham advised stewards prior to the race it would be the intention to ride the gelding in a mid-field position with cover should circumstances permit. This was advised via media outlet. Was ridden accordingly. Raced fiercely in the early stages when being restrained.
 
MISHANI REBOUND – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MISHANI HURRICANE – Began awkwardly. Hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride.
 
Race 3: Edmonton Battery Centre BM55 Handicap - 950 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed when the second placegetter, jockey R. Wiggins (SARANDOS ) requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest against the winner BANK BANK BANK (F. Edwards). After viewing the films, and considering the degree of interference and the margin jockey Wiggins advised that he did not wish to proceed with the protest.
 
SARANDOS – Severely tightened for room on jumping and lost considerable ground.Crowded for room leaving the 100 metres by BANK BANK BANK which hung out under pressure before switching back to its inside to obtain clear running.

AMELIA'S RAINBOW – Severely tightened for room on jumping and lost considerable ground.
 
ZALMATIAN – Severely tightened for room on jumping and lost considerable ground.

RED NEBULA – Severely tightened for room on jumping and lost considerable ground.

 
BANK BANK BANK – Hung out under pressure leaving the 100 metres. Trainer R. Ludwick was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. Mr Ludwick further advised he would experiment with a gear change prior to its next start.

PRIVATE SECTOR – Shifted out abruptly on jumping inconveniencing a number of runners to its outside. Trainer J. Russo was advised a further barrier certificate would be required prior to its next start.

ELITE STANDARD – Lost its off-fore plate during running.
 
BELLEVITA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had sustained an injury to its off-side eye. Trainer S. Hoffman was advised she must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to it being permitted to race again.
 
Race 4: Clive Gordon Memorial Maiden Handicap - 1250 metres
 
TROUBLE LOOMING – Slow to begin.
 
OUT SIZED – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.
 
LICONA – Slow to begin.
 
SNAP CHAT – Checked leaving the 1000 metres and lost ground when tightened for room. Apprentice C. Collis (GALACTIC TREASURE) pleaded guilty to a charge to careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that he permitted GALACTIC TREASURE shift in when not fully clear of SNAP CHAT which had to be checked and lose its rightful running. Apprentice Collis’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of (8) days to commence midnight 21 July 2022 and expire midnight 29 July 2022.
 
GALACTIC TREASURE – Shifted in leaving the 1000 metres tightening the running of SNAP CHAT which was checked and lost ground.
 
Race 5: Happy Birthday Jan BM50 Handicap - 1250 metres
 
PLUCKERCARN – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels leaving the 300 metres and was retrained then forced wider by WILD CHOICE and in doing so bumped ACTON SHALE.
 
MUSICAL GIRL – Slow to begin.
 
DEECATH – Bumped on jumping.
 
KITTYKITTYBANGBANG – Slow to begin.
 
ACTON SHALE – Bumped near the 300 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SHOCK ZONE – Shifted out on jumping bumping with DEECATH.
 
WILD CHOICE (NZ) – Shifted out slightly under pressure leaving the 300 metres hampering PLUCKERCARN. Rider J. Stanley was advised to show greater care.
 
 
Race 6: Ridge Angle BM50 Handicap - 1250 metres
 
BELLS APPROACHING – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.
 
FORSETI – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
TOFF ROCKS – Laid in near the 150 metres crowding SPIRIT MEISTER.

SPIRIT MEISTER – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Crowded for room near the 150 metres.

FEMALE OFFICER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 7: MAGIC MILLIONS/ROB KOCH MEMORIAL/FNQ U&C STAYERS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap - 2100 metres
 
SUPER ROSE – Began awkwardly.
 
MANSENETA – Raced wide early stages.
 
ZEPPELIN – Raced wide early and middle stages.
 
Race 8: Fiona Green @ Realty Class 3 Handicap - 1250 metres
 
NANTUCKET – Bounded in the air and shifted out making contact with its outside barrier gate and lost ground.
 
STRATOBEL – Began awkwardly making contact with its inside barrier gate and lost ground.
 
ROUGH CUT JEWEL – Laid out under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride.
 
INVESTOR – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
STIFLING – Rider R. Wiggins pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner by striking the gelding 18 times which is 4 more times than is permitted. Jockey Wiggins licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of  7 days to commence 15 July 2022 and to expire 22 July 2022.  

Race 9: The Laundry Express OPEN Handicap - 1250 metres
 
DANAWI – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
REVENIRE – Slow to begin.
 
RATHER SALUBRIOUS (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

BATTLE CRY – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
Race 10: Cairns Asset Locations BM70 Handicap - 950 metres
 
CHEVAUX – Tightened for room on jumping.Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BET ON LOVE – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
LOUD NOISE – Slow to begin.

BONDI BEAU – Slow to begin.

ALL STAR ROCKET – Began awkwardly and shifted in.  Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 11: AAB Equipment Pty Ltd BM65 Handicap - 1400 metres
 
ROTH'N'BELL – As jockey M. Abe was indisposed, he was replaced by Ms S. Wiseman.
 
FAST TRAIN – Began awkwardly.
 
SALESMAN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MODERNISM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

COOLMEANS (NZ) – Jockey W. D’Avila was reprimanded for use of the whip prior to the 100m where he used his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres which is one more than is permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii).
