Race 1: ZENBOOK QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres SECRET ENCRYPTION – Slow to begin. SIMPLY TINA – Raced greenly for the majority of the race. Race 2: DIAGEO AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres GULF OF LION – Had a tendency to over-race in the early and middle stages. Race 3: GATA PLASTERING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1250 Metres STEEL GRIT – Was declared a late scratching at 1.44pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice when found to be lame in the off hind-leg. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on STEEL GRIT were ordered to be refunded.Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 1:44pm. 8 cents in the dollar for the win MISHANI TWILIGHT 11 cents in the dollar for the place of winner MISHANI TWILIGHT 8 cents in the dollar for 2nd place HE CAN JAJA 9 cents in the dollar for 3rd place MISHANI CRUISE Co - Trainer P. Made the 750 metre crossing awkwardly. JUST SMILE – Slow to begin. MISHANI TWILIGHT – Slow to begin. MISHANI CRUISE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial injury to its off-fore fetlock. DIVINE WIT – Returned to scale with blood in its mouth due to a small laceration in its mouth. Race 4: ROWE RACING OPEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres PAPARAZZI ROCKET – Fractious in the barriers and was slow to begin. Tightened for room approaching the 550 metres and shifted in brushing the running rail and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial injury to its near fore fetlock. BIT OF FUN – After being slow to begin was then bumped by STARFILLY. Laid in and away from STARFILLY which was racing ungenerously near the 550 metres tightening the running of PAPARAZZI ROCKET which shifted in brushing the running rail. STARFILLY – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping BIT OF FUN and lost ground. Raced ungenerously approaching the 550 metres. BOLD TYPE – Raced ungenerously for a short distance after the start. Became awkwardly placed on heels near the 550 metres and was restrained. BATTLE CRY – Laid in momentarily near the 550 metres placing CARESSING RUPERT in restricted room. CARESSING RUPERT – Placed in restricted room near the 550 metres and was restrained. Race 5: LADBROKES ODDS SURGE MAIDEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres POWER SHOW – Was declared a late scratching at 3.04pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on POWER SHOW were ordered to be refunded. Rowe into the circumstances surrounding the scratching of POWER SHOW stewards questioned jockey M. Abe who explained that in his opinion the filly’s action during in its preliminary was questionable and for this reason, he was not comfortable for POWER SHOW to compete in the race. As stewards were satisfied that jockey Abe’s concerns were genuine no further action was taken. Co-Trainers T & P Rowe will be advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness will be required prior to it trialling or racing again. WILD AFFAIR – Slow to begin. VIGNERON – After being initially slow to begin was then bumped by AMBER’S POWER which shifted out. AMBER'S POWER – Shifted out at the start bumping VIGNERON and was slow into stride.WAIT'N'SEE – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 6: CHAMPIONS IN REAL ESTATE CLASS 3 PLATE – 950 Metres KING'S HALO – Trainer S. Massingham was reminded of his obligation to ensure riders are declared by the required time. Raced wide rounding the home turn. NEBARAZ – Slow to begin. SNAP CHAT – Slow to begin. LORD POWER – Became fractious as the start was effected and was slow to begin. NEUTRALIZE – Raced ungenerously for a short distance after the start. Race 7: PAUL DAVIS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres BORGOV – Was declared a late scratching at 4.17pm by order of stewards when the gelding refused to proceed to the barriers. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on BORGOV were ordered to be refunded. Wieland advised the gelding would now be retired from racing but was nonetheless advised should circumstances change it would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again. TANGO AND CASH – After being slow to begin was then tightened between runners. Commenced to over-race leaving the 1000 metres and raced wide from leaving the 900 metres. MAKANUI – Shifted out at the start crowding TANGO AND CASH. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. PREMIUM STAR – Began awkwardly and shifted in crowding TANG AND CASH. MARANZANO – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. IMPARDOO – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. STORMY LEGEND – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. COSMIC LEGEND – Jockey L. Morrison was fined $500 pursuant to AR 227(a) in that she was negligent in weighing in underweight which could have led to a breach of the rules. Race 8: MY VILLAGE BAKEHOUSE RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP – 1500M WONG WAY – Trainer M. Dale was reminded of his obligation to ensure riders are declared by the required time.
