Gillard Stewards – S. Copelin, Y. Walburgh- Schmidt, P. Lane SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTInnisfail 5 April 2025 – Race 5: JILL’S STATIONARY OPEN Handicap – 1500MLADY OF FORTUNE – Trainer S. Hoffman subsequently advised steward’s the mare had returned to her stables showing soreness in its off front fetlock. Ms Hoffman was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to LADY OF FORTUNE trialing or racing again. GENERALAs rider’s S. Cormack and G. Semmens were unable to fulfill later engagements due to travel arrangements replacement were made as per steward’s summary rider changes.Permitted overweights: Race 6, S Cormack + 1kg Race 7, L. Morrison + 0.50kgRace 7, B. Youngberry + 0.50kg (Declared riding weight) Race 8, B. Youngberry + 0.50kg (Declared riding weight) Race 8, L. Morrison + 1kg Race 1: IT'S A LIFE I WANT MAIDEN PLATE – 950 METRES KEEPTHEWOLVESAWAY – Slow to begin. COACHMAN – Laid out on jumping. DON'TLEAVEMENOW – Shifted out and away from COACHMAN at the start. Race 2: ASTUTE FINANCE - BARRON RIVER MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1250 Metres RICH FLEX – Connections advised it is the intention to ride the gelding off pace today if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Fractious in the barriers. Laid in under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride. GLAD RAG DOLL – Attempted to buck on jumping, was restrained and took no further part in the race. Connections were advised the mare must trial to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again. SHE'S A MISSION – Shifted in on jumping and brushed on two occasions with TOHUKU soon after the start. Raced ungenerously leaving the 1100 metres throwing its head in the air for some distance. Shifted wider leaving the 800 metres and raced wide from that point onwards. TOHUKU – Brushed on two occasions soon after the start. PARVULUS – Improved onto heels near the 900 metres. BLEDISLOE (NZ) – Raced ungenerously approaching the 1100 metres throwing its head in the air for some distance. Race 3: PWN PLUMBING BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres DOMINANT ROSE – Had tendency to over-race in the early stages. BABY GUINNESS – Momentarily disappointed for a run leaving the 200 metres. Race 4: LADBROKES ODDS SURGE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres LEAN EAGLE – Stewards noted rider R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+ two) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.Race 5: BABINDA ELECTRICS OPEN HANDICAP – 1400 Metres HARROW (IRE) – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. GULF OF LION – Slow into stride and shifted in bumping with SECRET LOCATION. Over-raced in the early stages. SECRET LOCATION – Slow to begin and was bumped on jumping. HERNE HILL – Steadied from heels near the 900 metres. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 6: SOUTH WEST SIGNS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD & FOUR-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP – 1400 Metres ARGUABLE – Slow to begin and shifted out bumping CLAN WIELAND. CLAN WIELAND – Bumped on the hind quarter on jumping and was unbalanced. MAJESTIC BLAZE – Slow into stride. DESERT GRIT – Raced keenly in the early stages when attempting to race with cover. HANGIN' AROUND – Stewards noted rider R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.Race 7: NIESAR PAINTING CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres LOOMING ONE – Began awkwardly and was restrained to obtain a position closer to the inside rail from its wide barrier.PICCAPEPPA – Slow into stride. ASAMBE – Raced fiercely in the early stages and as a result raced wide for the majority. TRAVELLING SWEET – Shifted in near the 500 metres placing SET THE SAILS in restricted room. Jockey L. Morrison was reprimanded and advised to show more care. Shifted out approaching 300 metres bumping AIRBORNE HOTDOG on the hind quarters. Jockey L. Morrison was advised to show much greater care when attempting to take a narrow run in similar circumstances. AIRBORNE HOTDOG – Bumped on the hind quarters approaching the 300 metres and was unbalanced. TARIFF – Raced wide for the majority. Race 8: R&J BATTERIES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 950 Metres DEVIL'S INN – Delayed the start due to having to be resaddled behind the barriers and subsequently refusing to load resulting in being declared a late scratching at 4.54pm. All monies wagered on DEVILS INN were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions to be applicable.0 cent in the dollar for the win LADY DAMUS1 cent in the dollar for the place of winner LADY DAMUS1 cent in the dollar for 2nd place KITEMA4 cents in the dollar for 3rd place GUAPOTrainer W. Brady was advised a further barrier certificate is required prior to DEVIL’S INN being permitted to race again. GREY POWER – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. KITEMA – Shifted in at the start bumping GREY POWER which in turn shifted in bumping LADY DAMUS.GUAPO – Began awkwardly and raced wide for the majority. Crowded for room leaving the 200 metres. LADY DAMUS – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Shifted in under pressure leaving the 200 metres crowding GUAPO. Jockey R. Wiggins was advised to show greater care. Stewards noted rider R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.INJADA – Stewards interviewed jockey L. Morrison and trainer B. Bailey in relation to jockey Morrisons riding of the gelding, particularly in the home straight. After hearing initial submissions stewards adjourned the matter to a date and time to be fixed to allow further inquiries and betting activities on the race.
