Race 1: GORDONS GIN FASHION HIGH TEA @ CJC 22ND AUGUST MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

ECHELON MAGIC – As the mare had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
MALFITANA – Attempted to buck shortly after the start and was retired from the race. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the filly prior to it  being permitted to race again.
 
KELLISA – Slow to begin. Lost its near hind plate during running.
 
MAVEN – Over-raced in the early stages. Stewards noted jockey R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ two) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
GERALDINE'S WISH – Commenced to over-race leaving the 1000 metres and shifted wider for a short distance.
 
SAVVY MONK (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 2: LIVING TURF QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP – 950 Metres

RAFF VADER – Shifted out at the start bumping with MUSIC GIRL. Jockey R. Wiggins was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out to the winning post.
 
MUSIC GIRL – Shifted in at the start bumping with RAFF VADER. Restrained from heels near the 500 metres and shifted wider. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

TARONG – Slow to begin. Made the 750-metre crossing awkwardly. Shifted out abruptly under pressure near the 200 metres. Stewards noted jockey J. Stanley exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
GOT THIS – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
MISTER TIA – When questioned regarding its previous run at Townsville 29 June 2025, trainer Ms L. McCormack advised stewards the gelding met with interference on jumping and the rider had dropped his whip in the home straight, in her opinion may have had a bearing on its performance that day. Her explanation was noted.
 
Race 3: COREY MACHAN SHEETMETAL BM65 HANDICAP – 1900 Metres

AMMAND – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Ingham Saturday 12 July and was cleared to start. Connections advised instructions would be issued to have the gelding ridden midfield if circumstances permit. Began well and assumed the lead, then raced keenly in the early and middle stages and was unable to be restrained.     
 
HARROW (IRE) – Raced strongly in the early and middle stages. Shifted out under pressure near the 250 metres when rider R. Wiggins changed whip hands placing MEDAL in restricted room. Jockey R. Wiggins was reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
MEDAL (NZ) – Restrained near the 250 metres when placed in restricted room. Jockey I. Fry advised stewards on returning to scale the gelding had a tendency to lay out for the majority of the race. 
 
Race 4: HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY ROSS MCGEE CLASS 3 HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE FOR 3,4&5YO'S) – 1250 Metres

ANOTHER FORTUNE – Slow to begin.
 
HIGHBAR – Rider L. Morrison advised stewards the gelding had a tendency to lay in for the majority of the race having to be corrected leaving the 300 metres.
 
NOBLE ATTACK – Restrained off heels in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

BRADSHAW – Over-raced in the early stages and restrained off heels leaving the 900 metres.

ARCTIC BEAR – Shifted in and away from NAPOLEON STRIKE which shifted in slightly approaching the 50 metres placing LUCKY LENI in restricted room. Jockey K. Swaffer was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
 
NAPOLEON STRIKE – Shifted in slightly under pressure leaving the 100 metres. Stewards noted jockey A. Thomson exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
LUCKY LENI – Steadied approaching the 50 metres when racing in restricted room to the inside of ARCTIC BEAR which shifted in. 

HELL OF A BENTLEY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 5: HOLMES COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE CLASS 3 HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE FOR 3,4&5YO'S) – 1250 Metres

EAGLE WARRIOR – Was declared a late scratching at 1.14pm on veterinary advice after being fractious in the float enroute to the course and showing signs of lameness in the near hind leg. Trainer S. Royes was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to the gelding being permitted to race again. 
 
ATTENTIVE – Slow to begin.
 
REDAVNI – Slow to begin.
 
RAETIHI (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
ELLIE'S DREAM – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
SKOGAFOSS – Over-raced in the early stages.

LISTENTOZOU (NZ) – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
FAST AS STEEL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
Race 6: CLIVE GORDON MEMORIAL BM65 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

SUPER ART – As the mare had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
DREAMWOMAN – Slow to begin.
 
IMPARDOO – Slow to begin.
 
SNITZAROO – Began awkwardly.
 
CANDLELIT – Jockey J. Murphy was momentarily unbalanced on jumping.
RUSSIAN MINT – Made the 750 metre crossing awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
BETTER BE SLICK – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
THATFEELSBETTER – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Race 7: WALKERS PROPERTY & BUSINESS LAWYERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres

BLUE STEEL – Slow to begin. Shifted in near the 300 metres and was hampered by SUPERSTITIONS which shifted out slightly. Continued to lay in under pressure in the home straight having to be corrected. 
 
SUPERSTITIONS – Ridden quietly out of the barriers to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail from its wide draw. Shifted out slightly near the 300 metres hampering BLUE
STEEL which shifted in.
 
ELLEVES – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 8: LADBROKES ODDS SURGE OPEN HANDICAP – 1400 Metres

MOKTAFFY (IRE) – Trainer L. Hatch was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR 67(1) for the late declaration of rider when riders were available. Slow to begin. Unable to be fully tested from leaving the 200 metres until leaving the 50 metres.  
 
BRINGYATICKET – Slow to begin. Over-raced early stages. Forced wider near the 350 metres.

STATS – Laid in near the 300 metres placing DIVINE OKAY in restricted room. Rider R. Wiggins was advised to show greater care. Continued to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages and brushed REGGIE’S BOY leaving the 100 metres.   
 
ARMOUR FORCE – Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 300 metres bumping heavily with DIVINE OKAY. Rider N. Thomas was advised to show greater care. Unable to obtain clear running until near the 50 metres.
 
DIVINE OKAY – Bumped and placed in restricted room near the 300 metres. Raced wide with cover for the majority of the race. 

REGGIE'S BOY – Brushed near the 100 metres.
