RACE 6: LADBROKES BELLE OF THE DAINTREE FILLIES & MARES BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres
Stewards today inquired into jockey J. Huxtables whip use as the rider of BABY GUINNESS prior to the 100 metres, after viewing the available footage jockey J. Huxtable pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on ten occasions prior to the 100 metres which is five more than is permitted. Jockey Huxtable’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight Thursday 28 August and expire midnight 5 September 2025. Jockey Huxtable was advised of his appeal rights. Stewards further inquired into the reason PURPOSE ‘N’ VISION appeared to be checked near the 600 metres. After hearing submissions from J. Taylor (PURPOSE ‘N’ VISION), A. Buttler (DEVIL KICK) J. Huxtable (BABY GUINESS) S. Cormack (LOWLANDS) and J. Murphy (AL RAS BLUES) it was established BABY GUINESS shifted in near the 600 metres however when J. Taylor (PURPOSE ‘N’ VISION) elected to shift to its outside horses had improved quickly to its outside and he was disappointed for a run and was checked when AL RAS BLUES shifted out slightly brushing LOWLANDS on the hind quarters which turned that runner inwards onto AL RAS BLUES which shifted in tightening the running of PURPOSE ‘N’ VISION which was checked. As stewards could not attribute full blame to any one rider, no further action was taken.
