SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

GENERAL
Permitted Overweight: 
Race 1, S. Cormack (Raff Vader) +0.50kg
Race 2, I, Fry (Trusting Star +0.50kg 
Race 3, S. Cormack (Fodor) +0.50kg
 
Race 1: LADBROKES POPULAR SRM QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD & FOUR-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP – 950 Metres
 
SOWILO SIREN – Bumped on the hind quarters on jumping and was momentarily unbalanced.  
 
RAFF VADER – Shifted out at the start bumping SOWILO SIREN.
 
HAPHAZARD – Made the 750 metre crossing awkwardly. Rider J. Taylor reported the gelding made the home turn awkwardly.  
 
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a GOOD (4)Retrospectively.

Race 2: LADBROKES RACING EXTRAS IN MULTI MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1500 Metres

GONCALO – As jockey M. McDonald was unable to make the allotted weight he was replaced by jockey N. Thomas. M. McDonald was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions AR 190(3). Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
LOVE WRAP – Connections advised instructions would be issued to ride the gelding more forward today if circumstances permitted. Began awkwardly and was unable to muster early speed. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and shifted wider leaving the 900 metres. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer R. Miller was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to its next trial or race start.     
 
COMBAT CRUSADER – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and was slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
FLOURISH – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
FRENCH DRAGON – Slow to begin. Raced wide with cover.
 
TRUSTING STAR – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
OUTONO – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
URIS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer A. Malliff was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to its next trial or race start.     
 
Race 3: CAIRNS LOCAL NEWS OPEN HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

VALENKI – Slow into stride. Stewards noted rider R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
GO GETABOY – Tendency to over-race in the middle stages. Began awkwardly. Stewards noted rider M. McDonald exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+ two) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
FODOR – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
Race 4: NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres

PREMIUM STAR – Slow to begin. Lost both front plates during running. Stewards noted rider R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
GRINZINGER BURG (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
YOUWANNAPEACHOFME – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.  
 
STARMEIRA – Over-raced in the early stages.

Race 5: POWERHOUSE PROPERTY CAIRNS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

RUBY CHICKS – Slow to begin.
 
LUCKY ROLLA – Slow into stride.
 
CATALINA DREAMING – Made the 750 metre crossing awkwardly.
 
FLYING ARTIST – Made the home turn three wide. Inconvenienced near the 200 metres when laid in and checked from the heels of GAMADALE NIP which shifted out.
 
GAMADALE NIP – Shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres inconveniencing FLYING ARTIST which laid in. Jockey J. Murphy was reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
 
IMELDA MAYHEM (NZ) – Difficulties obtaining clear running over the concluding stages. Lost its off-fore plate during running.  
 
Race 6: RED BERET HOTEL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

DREAMWOMAN – Slow to begin and then hampered shortly after.  
 
DESERT GRIT – Shifted out at the start hampering DREAMWOMAN which was slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
NIPPA'S NIGHTCAP – Slow to begin.

Race 7: MELBOURNE CUP LUNCHEON - BOOK TODAY CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres
 
SHARMAN PETE – Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages.
 
INDEFINITE (NZ) – Shifted in on its own accord before being quickly corrected near the 400 metres inconveniencing SKYWRITER which at the time had a tendency to lay out and had to be checked. Jockey I. Fry was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.  
 
SKYWRITER – Had a tendency to lay out when tightened for room by INDEFINITE which shifted in near the 400 metres resulting in SKYWRITER having to be checked.
