As jockey I. Fry was not riding at today’s meeting he was replaced as per steward’s summary.

RACE 1: HIRE A HUBBY BAYVIEW CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres

INDEFINITE (NZ) – Delayed the start when shifted its cross over nose band in the barriers requiring an adjustment. Shifted in and away from SHARMAN PETE near the 1300 metres crowding BOMBINATE.

SIR MAXIMUS – Shifted out at the start making contact with its outside barrier gate.

BOMBINATE – Crowded for room near the 1300 metres.

CALL ME HILTON – A post-race veterinary examination of CALL ME HILTON identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. Co – Trainers T & P Rowe, were advised that CALL ME HILTON shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) for a period of 2 months after the attack of bleeding, be trained, exercised or galloped on a racecourse, recognized training track, private training establishment, or other place; (b) must not start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: i. a gallop of at least 1,000 metres; or ii. an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.AR 79(4)

RACE 2: HOPPENS FLOORWORLD BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

TURN BIRD – Shifted out at the start bumping KING’S HALO. Shifted out under pressure near the 100 metres crowding ELLIE’S DREAM. Apprentice S. Pointon was advised to make a greater effort to keep her mount straight when in a similar circumstance.

IMPARDOO – Jumped out at the start bumping heavily with PRINCE AKEEM and then shortly after tightened between runners and restrained. Raced keenly in the early stages.

KING'S HALO – Bumped on jumping and shifted out tightening IMPARDOO. Restrained approaching the winning post when racing in restricted room.

PRINCE AKEEM – Bumped heavily on the hindquarters at the start and shifted inwards tightening IMPARDOO. Over-raced when racing wide in the early stages. Shifted in passing the winning post inconveniencing ELLIE’S DREAM. Rider S. Cormack (PRINCE AKEEM) was reprimanded and advised to show greater care.

ELLIE'S DREAM – Raced wide in the early stages without cover. Blundered after passing the winning post, clipping the heels of PRINCE AKEEM which shifted in.

RACE 3: AUSSIE DRILL KINGS PTY LTD OPEN HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

MOEGREEN (NZ) – Stewards questioned trainer F. Wieland in regard to the scratching of
the gelding for today’s event. Mr Wieland advised the horse had been nominated for the
OPEN HANDICAP over 1500 METRES when the race was abandoned due to the lack of
nominations where his preferred jockey was secured for the mount. After accepting in the
revised Race - OPEN HANDICAP – 1250 metres he was unable to secure his regular rider
who had ridden the gelding in its previous eight starts and in his opinion was very suited to
MOEGREEN. Stewards noted his explanation.

HIGHBAR – Stewards questioned trainer R. Chillemi in regard to the scratching of the
gelding for today’s event. Mr. Chillemi advised that after considering the caliber of today’s event which in his opinion was strong and HIGHBAR being a class 5, it was a better option to look for a less competitive race. His explanation was noted.

LIDDER VALLEY – Stewards questioned trainer S. Massingham in regard to the scratching
of the gelding for today’s event. Mr Massingham advised the gelding had obtained an injury
to its offside eye and the gelding was scratched on veterinary advice. Mr Massingham
provided such evidence.

INCHING CLOSER – Stewards noted rider A. Holt exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ two) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.

FODOR – Stewards noted rider R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ two) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.

TYCOON BEAU – Stewards noted rider S. Cormack exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ one) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.

RACE 4: 102.7 STAR FM CLASS 1 PLATE – 1250 Metres

IMELDA MAYHEM (NZ) – Fractious during its preliminary. Trainer A. Bailey was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s parading manners. Raced ungenerously for a short distance soon after jumping.

ELLIS BEACH – Raced wide in the early stages.

CHARM TELLER – Raced wide in the early stages.

RONS FINEST CHOICE (NZ) – Stewards noted rider R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ one) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.

RACE 5: FNQ VENDING MAIDEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres

BRAVOS CARLOS – Shifted out at the start bumping HOLD THE GOLD and blundered losing ground.

HOLD THE GOLD – Bumped and tightened for room on jumping and was slow into stride.

KARMARDO – Shifted inwards at the start tightening HOLD THE GOLD.

LAZENBY – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. Stewards noted rider R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.

SILVERTURN – Raced wide for the majority.

RACE 6: FULLGRABES REFRIGERATION BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP –
950 Metres

SEVENTIES HIT – Stewards acceded to a request from trainer B. Bailey that pre-race earmuffs be permitted today due to the horse being fractious. Mr. Bailey further advised he will re-instate pre-race earmuffs going forward. Shifted in to obtain clear running near the 200 metres making contact with SATURDAY VIBES which was tiring and was placed awkwardly at the heels of RUBY CHICK and was restrained. In considering this incident stewards noted a minor shift inward from HARTSHORN which was racing to the outside of SEVENTIES HIT at the time. Jockey L. Morrison was severely reprimanded and advised to show greater care.

AMNESTY – Stewards acceded to a request from trainer S. Massingham that pre-race earmuffs be permitted today due to the horse being fractious. Mr. Massingham further advised he will re-instate pre-race earmuffs going forward. Raced wide for the majority.

SATURDAY VIBES – After the blindfold was removed in the barriers it became entangled with jockey R. Wiggins left arm on jumping before becoming loose shortly after the start. Bumped near the 200 metres and placed awkwardly at heels and restrained.
A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to its upper gum.

ENABLER – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost considerable ground. Trainer M. Dale was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners.

HARTSHORN – Shifted in slightly under pressure near the 200 metres. Raced wide without cover.

BLOOMIN' RIPPER – Raced wide for the majority.

RACE 7: LADBROKES TOP 2/3/4 BETTING CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

WINEHOUSE – Slow to begin.

SINGULAR – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping with KHABALOV.

KHABALOV – Shifted in at the start bumping with SINGULAR and lost ground. Disappointed for a run near the 200 metres. Difficulties obtaining clear running in the home straight.

THREEBROTHERS – Over-raced in the early stages and made the 750 metre crossing awkwardly.

GREY POWER – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

BRING ME TO LIFE (NZ) – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Lost its near hind plate during running.

SHERE KHAN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the home turn without cover.
