As jockey R. Wiggins was unable to ride at today’s meeting due to transportation difficulties and jockey C. Meehan due to personal reasons they were replaced as per stewards’ race-day summary.
RACE 1: LADBROKES QUICK MULTI MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO ONLY) 950 Metres
The start of this race was delayed due to a section of running rail having to be repositioned by track staff and track gates having to be closed.
WICKED RED SOCKS – Slow into stride.
SCARLETT MODA – Saddle shifted back soon after the start resulting in jockey L. Morrison dismounting soon after passing the winning post.
XINGXING – Raced wide rounding the home turn. When asked to explain the performance today apprentice L. Guernier advised that in her opinion the gelding was not comfortable on today’s surface and failed to respond to her riding when put under pressure. Trainer R. Ludwig explained he was disappointed with its performance today and agreed it may not have been comfortable on today’s track surface. Mr Ludwig further advised he would have further veterinary examinations conducted on XINGXING in the coming days and would advise stewards of any results. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SILVERTURN – Rider dropped his whip near the 200 metres.
PROPER BENDER – Rider dropped her whip near the 150 metres.
RACE 2: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO. BM55 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
GREY POWER – Slow to begin.
VOUCHERS – Slow into stride. Stewards noted rider S. Cormack exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ one) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
LUCKY JIM – Stewards noted rider W. D’Avila exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ one) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
RACE 3: FENGLEHORN SAUCES QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1250 Metres
IMPALER – Slow to begin. Rider dropped her whip approaching the 200 metres. Laid out for a short distance leaving the 200 metres.
AMELIA'S PRINCE – Slow to begin. Made the 750 metre crossing awkwardly.
KAMMERZELL HOUSE – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
RACE 4: CORAL COAST CATERING QTIS JEWEL QUALIFIER 3YO PLATE (SET WEIGHTS) 1250 Metres
SATISFIED MUGS – Over-raced in the middle stages.
RACE 5: RED BERET HOTEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1250 Metres
RHEGION – Delayed the start after being fractious in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Stewards noted rider L. Morrison exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
INNOVATES – Slow into stride. Raced wide in the middle stages.
THIRD MASTER – Fractious in the barriers and was slow to begin.
THIRTEEN UNDER – Fractious in the barriers and was slow into stride.
HOLD MY HALO – Raced wide in the middle stages.
RACE 6: TRIPLE M CAIRNS BM75 HANDICAP 1250 Metres
YAMABUSHI – Shifted in making contact with the running rail near the 1000 metres.
TYCOON BEAU – Momentarily steadied from heels near the 450 metres.
CRYSTAL CHIEF – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide with cover for the majority of the race.
INCHING CLOSER – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
RACE 7: LADBROKES MEGA MULTI BM65 HANDICAP 950 Metres
ARCTIC BEAR – Slow into stride. Made the 750 metre crossing awkwardly. Saddle shifted back soon after the start which placed rider K. Swaffer at a disadvantage.
BELLA BIANCA – Anticipated the start and began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously and shifted in near the 750 metres crowding INJADA.
INJADA – Crowded for room near the 750 metres. Put in an awkward stride near the 500 metres.
BAGGAGE HANDLER – Commenced to over-race in the middle stages and improved into a tight run to the inside of DEVINE FORCE near the 400 metres bumping that runner on the hind quarters.
DEVINE FORCE – Bumped on the hind quarters near the 400 metres and was unbalanced.
BETTA AL – Stewards noted rider S. Kaya exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ two) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
RACE 8: RNR AIR- AIR CONDITIONING & REFRIGERATION BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 950 Metres
SHERE KHAN – Slow to begin.
LORD POWER – Slow to begin. Made contact with the inside running rail near the 500 metres.
ROSE OF ATHENS – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.
POWER PUFF – Fractious in the barriers and bounded in the air on jumping.
GUAPO – Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
TIPPED OFF– Raced wide with cover for the majority.
COPPABELLA ROAD – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
THREEBROTHERS – Raced wide with cover for the majority.
