SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
LADBROKES CANNON PARK – CAIRNS JOCKEY CLUB SATURDAY 22ND AUGUST 2026
Race 8 - NIESAR PAINTING BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
Stewards today concluded an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding interference suffered by IRRESISTIBLE FORCE near the150 metres. After hearing further evidence and viewing of all limited footage available, however no official head on or lateral film was able to be obtained due to a power outage on the day. The stewards could not be comfortably satisfied on the available film other than to establish that IRRESISTIBLE FORCE simutainisly shifted out bumping STOKOMO (App A. Graham) on the hind quarter which had shifted in, turning that runner inwards at the same time CLUEDO (M. Abe) when persisting for a run between NOVELA (S. Cormack) which laid out marginally and IRRESISTIBLE FORCE, bumping IRRESISTIBLE FORCE. Stewards took no direct action other then to advise all riders to show much greater care in similar circumstances.
