GENERAL
As Jockey S Sweedman and Apprentice A Ross were no longer attending the meeting rider changes were made as per the steward’s summary.
Race 1: WARREGO HOTEL”KOKODA” Maiden Plate 1200m
JAMAZEM – As the mare had not raced in a period exceeding 12 months it was examined by the veterinary surgeon and subsequently passed fit to start.
NO TREBLE – Began awkwardly bumping another runner.
GREY RULES – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
KENNIFF COUNTRY – Began awkwardly bumping another runner.
BILLJIM – Slow to begin.
BRADDOCK DOWN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 2: HAPPY 21ST RORY HUTCHEON “CHANGI” Benchmark 60 Handicap 1200m
FIRST FAMILY - As the gelding had not raced in a period exceeding 12 months it was examined by the veterinary surgeon and subsequently passed fit to start.
The start was delayed when FIRST FAMILY reared in the barriers resulting in Jockey M Schrapel sustaining an injury to his left leg. As M Schrapel was unable to fulfil his engagement the gelding was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards @ 2:15pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on FIRST FAMILY be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st 0c the win, 5c the place
2nd 10c the place
3rd 10c the place
WRITTEN GUARANTEE – Slow to begin.
BUDDIE OLLIE – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
DELCHUZY – Laid in in the early stages.
NICK THE SKIP – Raced wide without cover throughout.
Race 3: BILLABONG HOTEL MOTEL “RATS OF TOOBROOK” QTIS Benchmark 45 Handicap 1000m
IRISH SPIRIT – Was declared Late scratching @ 1:30pm due to no rider being available.
LENROY – As Jockey M Schrapel was injured in the prior event and unable to fulfill his engagement the gelding was declared a late scratching by order of stewards @ 2:30pm. Jockey M Schrapel was advised he will require a medical certificate prior to next riding.
CATHVALANNA - Jumped out abruptly on jumping.
AGENT ALBERT - Tightened on jumping losing ground.
ELITE GREY - Hampered at the start.
TARWYN BLUE - Slow to begin.
SAINT NO MORE - Began awkwardly.
MISS MOSS - Hung out throughout.
Race 4: PAIN FAMILY REUNION “BATTLE OF THE SOMME” Benchmark 65 Handicap 1000m
As Jockey M Schrapel was injured Jockey J Rudd was the replacement rider on CHANCE OF RAIN.
TOCCO D’ORO was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice @ 2:45pm after becoming injured in the tie up stalls. As betting had not commenced no deductions were required.
CHIEF HAVOC – Slow into stride.
IBINI – Slow to begin. Momentarily raced in restricted room near the 600m.
Race 5: NOEL HICKEY MEMORIAL “BATTLE OF FROMELLES” Benchmark 55 Handicap 1400m
ITSALLKAY – Slow to begin.
JUST FAVULOUS – Laid in shortly after the start tightening another runner.
PROTOTYPE – Hampered and forced inwards shortly after the start and lost ground.
