GENERAL
 
Appr Jky C Francis was a late riding addition at this meeting. Rider changes as per the Stewards Summary.
 
Race 1: BROWN & HURLEY MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
MR CASINO- Made contact with the barrier partition on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MINT STREET- Slow to begin.
 
QUEENS COMMAND- Slow to begin, bumped with SKY Cable shortly after the start and then raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
 
SKY CABLE- Awkward to begin, bumped with another runner soon after the start.
 
Race 2: BUSTER & LORRAINE SCHMIDT MEMORIAL QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000M
 
FRIENDLY SIZZLE- When being paraded proved difficult to handle and lashed out kicking the Clerk of the Course making contact with the Clerk’s right foot. No injury to the Clerk of the Course or his mount was apparent. The mare was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards due to its pre-race manners being difficult to load and on Veterinary advice for some lameness in the left hind leg. As a result of being declared a late scratching at 2.08pm by Stewards they then ordered that all monies invested on FRIENDLY SIZZLE be refunded in full less the following deductions- Win-SEEBURG- 16c- Pl- 18c, 2nd place- PRINCE CARLOS- 14c and 3rd pl- BOSS BANDIT- 14c. Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr. A Webb in relation to the future of the Mare. Mr. Webb advised he will take steps to remedy the matter including a major gear change such as blinkers and look at jumping it out prior to its next start. Mr. Webb also advised the horse had pulled up well and gave an undertaking to notify stewards should there be any signs of lameness in coming days. Stewards noted his comments.
 
EDWARDS- Due to the timeframe since the gelding’s last race start Stewards ordered a that a pre-race Vet examination be undertaken. This examination failed to detect any abnormalities and was subsequently passed fit to race. Bumped at the start with DREYFUS.
 
DREYFUS- Slow to begin then was bumped at the start by EDWARDS.
 
MISS BITTERSWEET- Bumped by another runner at the start.
 
OUR GOLDEN CHERUB- Slow to begin and then bumped heavily with MISS BITTERSWEET as the start was affected.
 
SEEBURG- Bumped heavily at the start with BOSS BANDIT.
 
BOSS BANDIT- Bumped heavily at the start with SEEBURG.
 
At the conclusion of the event a number of riders expressed concern with the start regarding those affected which resulted in them being slow out or not prepared for the start. After viewing the start Stewards were satisfied that all riders were afforded a fair start and then spoke with the starter Mr. R Jones who offered an undertaking that in future he would endeavor to ensure that he was heard by all riders. No further issues were forthcoming during the remainder of the program.
 
Race 3: CUNNAMULLA COFFEE SHOP OPEN HANDICAP 1000M
 
WARRAH FLASH- Slow to begin bumped with LOST MEDIA shortly after the start. Approaching the 800m when attempting a run to the outside of ZA HIDDEN DRAGON was inconvenienced. Raced at the rear for the majority of the event.
 
HIDDEN EYES- Began awkwardly and bumped with the barrier partition when it came back and made contact with the horse on jumping. Shortly after then bumped with MISTREY EMPEROR and then with TURNSTAR after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event and improved into the race at the 400m running on strongly over the final stages.
 
MISTREY EMPEROR- Began awkwardly and jumped out at the start bumping HIDDEN EYES shortly after.
 
TURNSTAR- Slow to begin. Bumped with HIDDEN EYES shortly after the start. Tended to lay out during the middle stages before being corrected by the rider. Raced wide for the majority.
 
LOST MEDIA- Bumped with WARRAH FLASH at the start.
 
ZA HIDDEN DRAGON- Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier partition as the start was affected. Approaching the 800m point shifted out marginally when not fully clear of WARRAH FLASH as a result Appr Jky S Robbins was advised by Stewards to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
Race 4: ASHLEY’S SPORTS N ALL BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1200M
 
BEST SIDE- Bumped with another runner shortly after the start.Put in an awkward stride after entering the home straight.
 
THARGOMINDA- Began awkwardly when it jumped in the air as the start was affected.
 
TOUGH JUDGE- Bumped with BEST SIDE shortly after the start.
 
HVARDANCE- Began awkwardly jumping in the air at the start. Raced wide for the majority.
 
JAMAICAN- Began awkwardly. Raced at the rear of the field while wide for the majority of the event. Jky H Phillips reported that the gelding was disappointing in the run and resented the kickback at today’s meeting. Stewards noted her comments.
 
Race 5: ANN DUFF MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400M
 
TERAMBI- During the preliminary gallop enroute to the barriers Appr Jky L O’Donnell was harmlessly dislodged with the gelding running off. After traveling a reasonable distance was eventually caught and examined by the attending veterinarian. This examination resulted in the horse not being passed fit to start due to an elevated heart rate and subsequently declared a late scratching at 3.58pm. Stewards ordered all monies invested on the horse to refunded in full with the following deductions- W- 16c Pl-16c on the winner THE GOSSIPER, 14c on the 2nd placed horse LASCO and 14c on the 3rd placed horse OAKFIELD TARGE. The rider of TERAMBI Appr Jky L O’Donnell was examined by QAS and found to have no visible signs of injury. Trainer Ms R Kerwin contacted Stewards on the 8/6/2025 that the horse pulled up well and displayed no signs of illness or lameness. Stewards noted her comments.
 
LASCO- Slow to begin. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority before improving into the race from the 400m and running on strongly over the final stages of the event.
 
HAMMOON SUNSHINE- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
