GENERAL
The following runner was scratched by order of Stewards due to no riders available.
Race 1: KOBE ASCOT
RACE 1: BILL PESKETT MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1000M
AYE EYE BOOM – Momentarily restrained passing the 600m when TOSMIAN (S Sweedman) shifted in. Jockey S Sweedman was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
WORTHY MOVES – Underwent a pre-race vet examination after returning to racing after a lengthy spell and was cleared to start. Bumped on jumping and was slow away.
HORNNIC – Awkwardly placed on heels and bumped when TOSMIAN shifted in on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
BONTOBEWILD – Inconvenienced on jumping when TOSMIAN began awkwardly and shifted in.
PARTY ISLAND – Began awkwardly, shifting in bumping BONTOBEWILD.
TOSMIAN – Shifted in on jumping hampering runners to its inside.
RACE 2: MAYVALE'S 'SHEARERS MUG' BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000M
PERFECT ENCOUNTER - On returning to scale apprentice S Pointon expressed concern that PERFECT ENCOUNTER had not been afforded a fair start. Upon viewing the available replays Stewards were satisfied the barrier gate had rebounded back causing the mare to lose considerable ground and as such it was declared a non-runner under the provisions of AR204 (1)(b). Stewards ordering the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers.

UPTURN – Laid in upon entering the course proper.
MALARINA – Raced wide for the majority.
ZEQUEL – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
DREYFUS – Near the 800m was obliged to steady and became awkwardly placed on heels when UPTURN (R Faehr) laid in dictating UCHI inwards into the line of DREYFUS. Jockey R Faehr was reprimanded under AR131(a) for this incident.
RACE 3:BROWN & HURLEY TOOWOOMBA QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
MR CASINO – Slow to begin. Near the 600m was inconvenienced and taken wider by RASCAL BOI. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
KABUKICHO - Trainer W Baker was fined the sum of $100 pursuant to AR106(1) for having the gelding presented to the mounting yard without a nose roll.
LADY SANTOS - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled bilaterally for the first occasion. Trainer W. Baker was advised that the mare would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and would be required to trial/gallop 1000m to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
LONIESHA – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. On returning to scale Jockey T Townsend was examined by QAS officers after her left foot made heavy contact with the barrier partition. Ms Townsend was cleared to continue her riding engagements.
SHE'S GOT GRACE –Near the 100m was obliged to shift in to obtain clear running when LONIESHA (T Townsend) laid out under pressure. Jockey Townsend was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground under similar circumstances.
RASCAL BOI – Near the 600m commenced to buck and was eased out of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer R Connelly was advised the gelding would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
NUZANA – Slow into stride. Near the 600m was inconvenienced and taken wider by RASCAL BOI.
RACE 4: OIGLES MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP 1200M
LASCO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
RUPELTIER – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
SILVANNA'S SONG – Eased down over the final 100m. Lost off hind plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
RACE 5: MAKTRANS PTY LTD TOOWOOMBA BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400M
AL ASH LAD – Near the 1200m bumped with HARLEQUIN FIELD as was momentarily unbalanced. Apprentice S Robbins was reminded of her obligations in relation to using her whip on consecutive strides.
HARLEQUIN FIELD – Bumped near the 1200m.
EDWARDS – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
HOWSE – Slow into stride.
BAUHINIA BEANS – Commenced to lose ground from the 400m. Jockey R Tilley reported that when his mount started to give ground, he placed the gelding under pressure however when the gelding failed to respond he elected not to pressure any further. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
RACE 6: SHEPHERD SERVICES CUNNAMULLA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1800M
STAMPEDE WARRIOR - Began awkwardly, bumped and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority. When questioned, jockey R Faehr reported the gelding did not appreciate today’s track surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
KARIACTION - Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
SAXINOUE - Began awkwardly, bumped and slow to begin.
VOLDEMORT - Awkwardly placed on heels shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority.
ONOMATOPOEIA – Commenced to lose ground from the 600m. Jockey T Banks reported his mount travelled comfortably throughout until asked for an effort from the 600m and failed to respond to his riding. Trainer B Davis reported the gelding will be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
