GENERAL
The following horses were scratched due to no available rider:

RACE 1 GARY ATHORN LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT CUNNAMULLA CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 M

LOADED WEAPON - Raced wide throughout.

SPANISH RAGE – Shortly after the start, was obliged to take hold when LOADED WEAPON (App J. Dooley) shifted in when insufficiently clear. Raced wide throughout. Apprentice J. Dooley was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) for this incident. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg.
Trainer M Gavin was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again.

DAZZINGTON – Bagan awkwardly and bumped heavily becoming unbalanced then awkwardly placed on the heels of SPANISH RAGE and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.

MAKE MINE SHIRAZ – Began awkwardly and bumped becoming momentarily unbalanced.

KANTAI – Began awkwardly.

TRIBESMAN - Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

RACE 2 BROWN & HURLEY TOOWOOMBA MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M

NYTHE - Raced wide throughout.

SAMURAI WAND – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.

BOULIA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination. Slow to begin.

CHAMPAGNE QUEEN (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.

RACE 3 ARNOLD SIMPSON'S LIVESTOCK HAULAGE CUNNAMULLA QTIS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000 M

TRANSCELTIC – Bumped heavily on jumping then blundered.

UPTURN – When asked for a comment, rider P. Randall believed the gelding choked down which attributed to the disappointing performance. Trainer L Baker advised he would experiment with gear changes prior to the gelding racing again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

ZOUCHASE - Laid out near the 600m when over-racing taking ZA HIDDEN DRAGON wider.

TOUGH JUDGE – Began awkwardly then shifted out abruptly bumping TRANSELTIC

CORVALIST- Rider R Tilley was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out fully to the finish line.

ZOUPHISTICATE – Slow to begin.


RACE 4 WARREGO HOTEL CUNNAMULLA OPEN HANDICAP 1000 M

TURNSTAR - Slow to begin.

VOLDEMORT – Raced wide throughout.

AL ASH LAD - Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

MALARINA – Began awkwardly, bumped and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.


RACE 5 TUCKWELL TRANSPORT & EARTHMOVING CUNNAMULLA BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400 M

EDWARDS – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

NOTACLUEHOWORWHO - Very slow to begin. Trainer R Zahl was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for being slow away.

BUGDEN – Began awkwardly and slow away.

VERY GRATEFUL – Began awkwardly. Jockey P Randall pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 9 occasions prior to the 100m and 15 times in totality. Rider P Randall’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days commencing midnight 25th April 2026 up to and including 2nd May 2026.

DUN WITH ROSES - Rider R Tilley was fined a sum of $200 under AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finish line.
