GENERAL
The following runners were scratched by order of Stewards due to no available, or suitable riders:
Race 1: BOOM FLYER
Race 5: KANTAI
Due to a shortage of riders and the meeting being rescheduled from Saturday 23rd May, Stewards accepted reasons for the late rider declarations.
 
RACE 1: BROWN & HURLEY TOOWOOMBA MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
DAZZINGTON – Raced wide without cover. Approaching the 100m bumped with OAKFIELD MONTANA when both runners shifted ground when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAKE MINE SHIRAZ – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
LILY'S DASH – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
OAKFIELD MONTANA - Approaching the 100m bumped with DAZZINGTON when both runners shifted ground when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
RACE 2: LANG MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000m
 
KAT CHINNA – Obliged to check shortly after the start when crowded between runners. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
TILUSSION – Laid out shortly after the start crowding runners to its outside.
 
DREYFUS – Shifted in on jumping, continued to lay in crowding runners the inside despite the efforts of its rider. Raced wide without cover for the majority. Rider lost his whip passing the 200m.
 
RACE 3: BUSTER & LORRAINE SCHMIDT MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m
 
BOULEVARD BOY – Began awkwardly throwing its head up in the air.
 
BUTWEDID – Stood flat footed. Laid out passing the 800m. Trainer J Patterson was advised the gelding would need to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
QUEEN ARNI – Began awkwardly and bumped STARTLING CAT. Rider T Banks reported his right foot made contact with the barrier partition on jumping.  
 
STARTLING CAT – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
SOCCEREW – Stewards permitted the removal of the tongue tie from the filly’s gear. When questioned, rider R Tilley believes the filly did not appreciate the track surface and kickback. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
RACE 4: SCHMIDT CONTRACTING CUNNAMULLA OPEN HANDICAP 1200m
 
MON PIERRE – Late scratching on Vets advice @ 10:38am due to minor lacerations to the right hind leg. A Webb was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again.
 
VOLDEMORT – Passing the 600m was restrained off the heels of TURNSTAR when racing keen.
 
KARIACTION – Apprentice A Heinrich reported her mount laid in after the winning post making contact with the inside rail on numerous occasions. QAS Officers examined Ms Heinrich’s right foot and was cleared to continue her riding engagements.
 
RACE 5: MAYVALE PASTORAL CO. QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400m
 
AL ASH LAD – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival at course due to a minor abrasion to the right hind fetlock and cleared to start. Raced keen early.
 
VERY GRATEFUL – Raced keen early. When questioned, Apprentice A Heinrich stated her mount raced keen early and when placed under pressure near the 400m proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

SEEYA LATER GATER – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider T Banks was reminded of his obligations when riding his mount out to the finish line.
 
DUN WITH ROSE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
