General:
As apprentice R. Ride was unable to attend today’s meeting, replacements were made as per the Stewards’ Race Day Summary.


Race 1: CHELSEA CUP MAIDEN H’CAP – 800m
1ST – IBELIEVEICANFLY 2ND – MURTIBELLA 3RD – DUBLEO DABBLE 4TH – CRAIGLEA DIAMOND

MADUM MUK – As B. Appo was unable to make the weight of 54kg he was replaced by J. Missen. B. Appo was fined $100.

CRAIGLEA RUSH – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

MURTIBELLA – Attempted to buck for two strides shortly after the start. Trainer C. Smith was notified that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners. Held up for clear running until leaving the 150m.

CHARLIE CLANG – Began awkwardly and shifted out.

DUBLEO DABBLE – Raced wide without cover throughout.

IBELIEVEICANFLY – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.


Race 2: DENNIS DASH QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m
1ST – MISS RICCIARDO 2ND – I’VE GOT FRIENDS 3RD – BOLD AVENUE 4TH – REDSERA

REDSERA - Trainer R. Lipp was fined $100 for failing to produce the Thoroughbred Identification Card for the gelding. Began awkwardly.

MISS RICCIARDO – Began awkwardly.

I’VE GOT FRIENDS – Tightened for room at the start. Apprentice B. Stower reported the gelding was inclined to hang out in the home straight, which prevented her from riding with her usual vigour.

PICK OF THE PUBS – Began awkwardly.

STELLAR KNIGHT – Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Jockey N. Evans reported the gelding raced greenly and was inclined to hang out throughout the event.

BOLD AVENUE – Slow into stride.

LARVOTTO BEACH – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey G. Geran reported that the colt raced greenly throughout and was reluctant to race inside other runners.



Race 3: WYATT WINNER MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400m
1ST – NAUTICAL LAD 2ND – MIRRIMA 3RD – CANADEN 4TH – MUSICIAN

THE PLAYROOM (NZ) – Jumped in the air at the start.

SNIPPETS OF LUCK – Bumped another runner at the start.

BRUBAKER - Bumped another runner at the start.

SUPREME VOLTAGE – Bumped another runner when racing in restricted room near the 1200m.

MISS YOU JOHNNY - Bumped another runner when racing in restricted room near the 1200m.

FRISCOS SHADOW – Raced wide throughout.

HAYIL MATADOR – Raced wide throughout.

MIRRIMA – Checked from heels leaving the 600m when FRISCOS SHADOW (S. Bogenhuber) shifted in when insufficiently clear. S. Bogenhuber was issued with a severe reprimand for this incident. Held up behind a tiring runner from the 500m to the 400m. Blundered near the 400m.

MORE VALUE – Steadied when tightened for room near the 50m when MIRRIMA (S. Apthorpe) shifted in under pressure. S. Apthorpe was issued with a reprimand for this incident.


Race 4: TEAKLE TROT CLASS 3 PLATE – 1000m
1ST – URULOKI 2ND – SAVAGE ROCK 3RD – SWEET AND SAVAGE 4TH – CRAIGLEA ZIP

CRAIGLEA ALTISE – Trainer K. Johnson was fined $100 for failing to produce the Thoroughbred Identification Card for the gelding.

AMAIZING DRAGON – Slow to begin.

EXSTRATUM – Raced wide without cover throughout.

ZOUAVES – Jockey L. McCoy reported that the gelding hung in throughout the event. L. McCoy was reprimanded for using the whip in a forehand manner more than five times prior to the 100m.

SWEET AND SAVAGE – Held up for clear running until the 150m.

URULOKI – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer C. Smith explained that at the mare’s previous start she stood flat-footed and was reluctant to race for the first 300m, taking no competitive part in the event. He added that URULOKI began well today and was also dropping back in class in today’s event. Stewards noted the explanation.

SPECIAL ROSE – Bumped near the 50m when CRAIGLEA ZIP shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.


Race 5: ‘NORTH DALBY TAVERN’ CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1300m
1ST – ROCKDAY 2ND – SWEET CRACKER 3RD – LIGHT PHILOU 4TH – NO NEGATIVE WAVES

HENRY’S CROWN – Examined by the veterinary surgeon after being fractious in the float and cleared to start. Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn.

ATTRACTION – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, apprentice M. Schrapel reported that after missing the start he had to pressure the mare in the early stages, and despite travelling well the mare failed to respond to his riding from the 500m.

REAL TRICKY – Bumped another runner at the start. Apprentice J. Worley was inconvenienced for a short distance after straightening when her whip became entangled in the reins.

NO NEGATIVE WAVES – Bumped another runner at the start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

LIGHT PHILOU – Overraced in the early stages. Blundered near the 950m. Raced wide throughout. Trainer G. Postle reported the gelding lost its off fore plate during the event.

AHA I SEE – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn. Held up for clear running until the 200m.

SWEET CRACKER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

CRUSADER RABBIT –. Apprentice J. Orman reported that the gelding was reluctant to stretch out over the concluding stages after being accidently hit over the head by the whip of B. Stower near the 100m.


Race 6: GEORGE GALLOP COUNTRY QUEENSLAND SHOWCASE OPEN H’CAP – 1300m
1ST – NOOGOORA BURR 2ND – BARONESS ZEENA 3RD – GAELSTORM 4TH – WRITTENINTHERAIN

BARONESS ZEENA – Bumped another runner at the start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

ROBERT’S COMMAND - Bumped another runner at the start.

PATAPINDA – Overraced in the early stages.

NOOGOORA BURR – Raced wide throughout.

TINTS – Held up for clear running until near the 100m.

GAELSTORM – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Lost its off fore plate during the event.


Race 7: STELLA STAMPEDE CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1788M
1ST – EARHART 2ND – WILD SANDS 3RD – WAY OF BEING 4TH – KING OF JACKS

WAY OF BEING – Dwelt at the start.

GETTING’JIGGYWITHIT – Made the first turn awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

MR DODO – Hung out rounding the first turn.

COMMANDER BOLTZ – Hung out rounding the first turn.

MR PENNYPACKER – Apprentice B. Newport was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out to the end of the race.
