Race 1: ROBYN PERRETT FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE (1200m)

HAS BEAN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LETTERS OF ROMANCE – Laid out onto heels near the 800m and had to be steadied. Shifted in marginally near the 700m crowding RELATIVES. Apprentice I. Jessop was advised to exercise greater care. Laid out rounding the home-turn becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of MISS IMPRESSIVE before having to be shifted wider to obtain clear running.
 
RELATIVES – Co-trainer C. Geran was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67 for failing to declare Jockey J. Lloyd as the rider of the mare be the prescribed time. Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room for some distance near the 700m to the inside of LETTERS OF ROMANCE.
 
EJAY'S FIREFOX – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Laid in under pressure down the home straight.
 
LADY ZAYDI – Began awkwardly. Shifted in when not fully clear of VERSION near the 800m which had to be steadied and blundered. Jockey J. Stanley was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding.
 
SCRUFFY – Began awkwardly. Laid in and bumped near the 250m with ACCELERATE RAPIDLY.
 
VERSION – Steadied near the 800m when LADY ZAYDI shifted in and blundered. Raced keenly on heels for some distance thereafter. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey N. Tomizawa advised that the filly proved disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
FLY MISS ARTIE – Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
MISS IMPRESSIVE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ACCELERATE RAPIDLY – Bumped near the 250m when SCRFFY laid in.
 
 
Race 2: BOB LAFFY COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE (1200m)

BAD BOY BOONE – Began awkwardly and bumped. Raced keenly in the early stages. Held-up for clear running when awkwardly placed on the heels of MISHANI REACTOR rounding the home-turn.
 
DAZZINGTON – Began awkwardly. Bumped heavily soon after the start when KOOL BRUCE shifted out abruptly. Carried wider approaching the 1100m when KOOL BRUCE commenced to over-race and shifted out to avoid heels, before being bumped heavily again. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event.
 
FOOLSAY – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1000m was bumped and shifted in when FRENCH EMPIRE was carried inwards.
 
FRENCH EMPIRE – Carried inwards and bumped FOOLSAY near the 1000m when MISHANI REACTOR was directed inwards.
 
KOOL BRUCE – Began awkwardly. Shifted out abruptly soon after the start and bumped DAZZINGTON heavily. Commenced to over-race in the early stages before being shifted off heels and bumped heavily with DAZZINGTON approaching the 1100m.
 
LEICA HARLEY – Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with the near-side barrier partition. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
MISHANI REACTOR – Carried inwards near the 1000m and eased when STOP THE TAPE shifted in.
 
RAGING – Raced keenly on heels near the 800m. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
STOP THE TAPE – Trainer M. Kelly was reprimanded under the provisions of LR67 for the late declaration of Jockey J. Stanley as the rider of the gelding. Shifted in near the 1000m, carrying MSIHANI REACTOR in which was obliged to ease, before being carried in crowding FRENCH EMPIRE which bumped FOOLSAY. Jockey J. Stanley was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding and advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
 
Race 3: MARY BARRY MBE MEMORIAL BM65 HANDICAP (1200m)

CELESTIAL HARBOUR – Trainer C. Geran was fined $200 under the provisions of LR67 for the late declaration of Apprentice B. Wheeler as the rider of the gelding. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event.
 
PRINCE OF DIAMONDS – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Apprentice K. Johnston pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) in that leaving the 300m, she did her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of SALT LAKE BETTY, which became awkwardly placed on heels and was checked. Apprentice Johnston’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 days, commencing Wednesday, 4 June 2025 and to conclude Tuesday, 10 June 2025, on which day she may ride. In assessing the matter, Stewards considered the degree of carelessness and interference, her guilty plea, and status as an apprentice. Apprentice Johnston was advised of her rights to an appeal. Apprentice K. Johnston advised that the gelding felt uncomfortable throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ADALIE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting the mounting yard fence when entering the track and was cleared to start. Crowded on jumping when PRINCE OF DIAMONDS shifted out. Buffeted soon after the start when I’M ZAC shifted in. Steadied leaving the 50m when SIR MAURICE shifted out.
 
DESERT STAR – Trainer R. Hay was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67 for the late declaration of Jockey J. Stanley as the rider of the gelding.
 
SALT LAKE BETTY – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Became awkwardly placed on the heels of PRINCE OF DIAMONDS leaving the 300m and was obliged to be checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
I'M ZAC – Bumped soon after the start when ADALIE was crowded and became unbalanced.
 
SIR MAURICE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Jockey C. Bayliss pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding in that leaving the 50m, he did permit his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of COMMAND APPROVED, which was restrained, before continuing to shift out into the line of ADALIE which was steadied. Jockey Bayliss’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days, commencing Wednesday, 4 June 2025 and to conclude Friday, 13 June 2025 on which day he may ride. In assessing the matter, Stewards considered the degree of carelessness and interference, as well as his guilty plea and excellent record in relation to the rule, noting that Jockey Bayliss had not been suspended under this rule since December 2022. Jockey Bayliss was advised of his rights to an appeal.
 
COMMAND APPROVED – Began awkwardly. Restrained and shifted in leaving the 50m when SIR MAURICE shifted in.
 
HOTFOOT PERFORMER – Momentarily held-up for clear running near the 100m when awkwardly placed to the outside of heels. Crowded near the 50m when COMMAND APPROVED was steadied and shifted in to avoid the heels of SIR MAURICE.
 
 
Race 4: DR IAN KEYS MEMORIAL 0 - 58 HANDICAP (1000m)

MACHINE HEAD – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MORGANITE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event.
 
RUNAROUND SUE – Became awkwardly placed on heels near the 400m when MISHANI EXPRESS laid out and was steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MISHANI EXPRESS – Laid out rounding the home-turn.
 
QUARTER RED – Held-up for clear running for some distance approaching the 200m when awkwardly placed on the heels of MACHINE HEAD. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BLERIOT – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SPRING BIRD – Proved very reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Trainer R. Tyrell was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s record for its pre-race manners. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event.
 
 
Race 5: MICHAEL KELLY BM70 HANDICAP (1400m)
 
EXECUTIVE STRESS – Began awkwardly. Apprentice T. Orr dropped his whip near the 500m. Shifted out when not fully clear of NEVER GIVE UP near the 500m, resulting in that runner having to be steadied and shifted out before bumping TOO HARD TO REFUSE, and OUR ORATOR which was trailing, having to be shifted out to avoid heels. Apprentice T. Orr was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding.

PICKO ROCKS – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected and lost ground. Trainer D. Baker was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.
 
NEVER GIVE UP – Began awkwardly. Steadied and shifted out before bumped near the 500m. Steadied near the 400m and crowded. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LET FLY – Began awkwardly.
 
BASIL'S BOW – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly for some distance passing the 1100m.
 
TOO HARD TO REFUSE – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Bumped and crowded for some distance passing the 500m until near the 400m had to be steadied off the heels of CAPE CRUSADER. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
CAPE CRUSADER – Shifted in when not fully clear of TOO HARD TO REFUSE resulting in that runner having to momentarily steady when bumped and crowded near the 400m. Jockey N. Tomizawa was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding.
 
HUSS ON FIRST – Began awkwardly.
 
OUR ORATOR – Began awkwardly. Bumped soon after the start. Shifted out off the heels of EXECUTIVE STRESS near the 400m and bumped NEVER GIVE UP before carrying that runner out and bumping TOO HARD TO REFUSE. Apprentice J. Busuttin was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding. In assessing the matter, Stewards noted the initial shift from EXECUTIVE STRESS, however advised Apprentice Busuttin the more favourable option would have been to restrain her mount and not shift ground in a manner which caused further interference to other runners.
 

Race 6: CHARLES HENRY 0 - 58 HANDICAP (1400m)

TOMYDONKA – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
CLIPPER SHIP – Crowded on jumping.
 
IRAMA – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly for some distance passing the 800m.
 
FLASH ZARIZ – Harmlessly dislodged Apprentice S. Willis behind the barriers. Began awkwardly. Raced keenly on heels near the 1000m.
 
AERIAL BAY – Began awkwardly and bumped. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid-out rounding the home-turn.
 
HUSSON'S REVENGE – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
BRINGME – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BOOM BY BY – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
LYNDALL – Began awkwardly and bumped. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off-foreleg. Trainer P. Barron was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again.
 
 
 
Race 7: HENRY SMILES MEMORIAL BM55 HANDICAP     (2000m)

SAMURAI WARRIOR (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
FEBRUARY (NZ) – Raced in restricted room for some distance approaching the 200m. Shifted out when not fully clear of JUMERIAH TRIANGLE which was obliged to ease. Jockey D. Turner was advised to exercise greater care.
 
PHOENIX FLYER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event.
 
TOBA – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
PURE THOUGHTS – Momentarily eased when FEBRUARY shifted out approaching the 100m.

JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE – Began awkwardly. Obliged to ease near the 200m when FEBRUARY shifted out.
 
WHATADILEMMA – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly for some distance passing the 1800m. When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey C. Bayliss advised that the gelding failed to travel throughout the event and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
TAVIESLASS (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
JENNI INDA JUNGLE – Began awkwardly.
 
BRAVE BOY – Eased off the heels of WHATADILEMMA soon after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
