SUPPLIMENTARY
 
Clifton RC- 25/10/2025- Appr P Fergusson-Smith suffered a minor injury to her foot as her jumped out of the barriers in Race 1 and was able to ride for the remainder of the program after being examined by QAS. RQ Safety Officer advised that her condition had worsen coming days. As a result, she has been stood down on medical advice until the 5/11/2025. Appr Jky P Fergusson-Smith was advised she requires a medical clearance prior to resuming race riding.
 
GENERAL
 
Race 2 starting time was amended to 2.14pm and Race 3 starting time to 2.54pm due to the incident relating to Appr Jky B Baker being injured and subsequent delay where a second QAS vehicle was required to transport Ms Baker to the Dalby Hospital for further examination and further, the late scratching’s of LIFT’N’MEHIGHER and TORVI at 1.00pm and 1.32pm respectively.
 
After the running of Race 3, lightning strikes were detected within close proximity to the racecourse. Stewards delayed the commencement of Race 4 to allow the storm to pass. However, during this delay, and while continuing to monitor the lightning strikes and the weather radar, it was observed that conditions were rapidly deteriorating. Stewards in consultation with the riding group, club officials and with the safety of licensees and horses in mind, elected to call the remainder of the race meeting off at 3:55pm.
 
Race 1: DOSE OF ENVY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
 
MAJESTIC LOUVRE- Began awkwardly and jumped out tightening ILEGITMO, tightened for room at the 900m.
 
NEWELL BEACH - Bumped with WORLDLY SPIRIT shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
WORLDLY SPIRIT - Bumped soon after the start. Raced at the rear of the field for some distance before improving into the race from the 600m where it raced wide with cover. Laid in for some distance while racing in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.
 
LIFT’N’MEHIGHER - Hit its head in the barriers and went down shortly after being loaded, this resulted in Appr Jky B Baker being dislodged and examined by QAS, Ms Baker was subsequently transported to the Dalby Hospital for further examination of any injuries received from the incident. Stewards ordered a veterinary examination of the filly be undertaken, this examination found multiple superficial wounds above her eyes. The filly was then scratched by Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 1.00pm. Stewards then all monies invested on LIFT’N’MEHIGHER to refunded in full less the following deductions to apply- W- WORLDLY SPIRIT- W-7c, Pl- 7c, 2nd Place MISHANI COMRADE- Pl-17c and 3rd Place- ILEGITMO- Pl- 18c. Stewards declared correct weight on the numbers as semaphored by the Judge/s. Stewards advised Trainer Mrs K Geran that LIFT’N’MEHIGHER would need to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Mrs Geran also gave an undertaking that should the filly’s condition deteriorate in coming days, she would notify Stewards. Stewards spoke with Trainer Ms K Geran post-race day she advised the filly pulled well and ate with no signs of injury and she intends to trial her as soon as possible. Stewards noted Ms Geran’s comments.
 
ILEGITIMO – Slow to begin, then was tightened for room as a result of MAJESTIC LOUVRE jumping out shortly after the start.
 
SHE’S GOT GRACE – Rolled in marginally at the 900m point resulting MAJESTIC LOUVRE being tightened for room.
 
TORVI- After hitting its head in the barriers while proving difficult to load. A Veterinary examination was ordered and this examination revealed fresh blood in the mouth of the mare with a lower lateral incisor broken. As a result, the mare was declared a late scratching at 1.32pm by Stewards acting on Vet advice. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on TORVI be refunded in full less the following deductions- W- WORLDLY SPIRIT- W- 0c, Pl-2c, 2nd Pl- MISHANI COMRADE- 7c, and 3rd Pl- ILEGITIMO-8c. Stewards subsequently declared correct weight on the numbers as semaphored by the Judge/s. Stewards later advised Trainer Ms A Park that the Mare would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next start. The attending Veterinary advised that no Vet certificate would be required.
 
MISHANI COMRADE – Put in an awkward stride at the 1000m point. Laid out marginally at approximately the 900m point before being corrected by the rider. Shifted in when placed under pressure over the final stages. Tended to lay in while running in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.
 
Race 2: AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL EQUIPMENT GROUP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000M
 
RUM DIARY – Approaching the home turn shifts out when awkwardly placed on heels when losing ground, bumped with BESMARA. Appr. Jky C Krahnen was ordered to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
MHASAHN – Began awkwardly when jumping out.
 
TAKARA STAR – Bumped with BESMARA shortly after the start.
 
ABOVE THE WORLD – Raced at the rear of the field for the majority.
 
SONIC ARROW - Slow to begin.
 
FRIDAY’S JET – Fractious in the barriers. Tightened for room shortly after the start when MHASAHN began awkwardly. Failed to improve into the race despite the best efforts of the rider to do so. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. Stewards ordered a post-race Veterinary examination, this examination revealed mild skin lesions on the left hock with no visible lameness.
 
BESMARA- Bumped with another runner shortly after the start was affected. Bumped by RUM DIARY in the home turn while laying in and lost ground.
 
Race 3: AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY CHOICE CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1400M
 
TORONESS – Bumped with SO YOU CAN TORQUE shortly after the start.
 
SO YOU CAN TORQUE – Appr Jky B Baker was replaced by Appr Jky K Barker. Began awkwardly and jumped out bumping with TORONESS shortly after the start was affected. Raced wide with cover during the middle stages of the event.
 
DEL TITO – Bumped at the start with DARLING HEART.
 
SWEET ABOUT ME – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room at the 1000m point for a short distance. Over raced during the early stages of the event. Laid in while running in the home straight for a short distance before being corrected by the rider.
 
DARLING HEART – Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. Began to weaken from the 200m point.
 
Race 4: DALBY TRAINING CENTRE BENCMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400M
 
UNLEASH – Jky C BAYLISS was replaced by Jky P Hamblin due to Jky Bayliss having to ride at the Toowoomba Meeting this evening.
 
MAGIC IN ME – As a result to the injury to Appr Jky B Baker, she was replaced by Appr Jky C Krahnen.
 
Race 5: STEVE MCDONALD CONTRACTING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200M
 
LITTLESHOW- Stewards acting under the provision of LR67(1) issued a Severe Reprimand to Trainer Mr G Barbierato for his late declaration of a rider. In determining penalty Stewards noted Mr Barbierato’s excellent record in relation to this rule.
