GENERAL
The following weight variation have been approved for this meeting- Race 5- Jky M Murphy +1.0kg. All late and replacement riders as per the Stewards Summary. After the running of race 2 and consultation with the riders the track was downgraded to a Slow 5.
RACE 1- JANE'S 60TH JUMP OUT MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
ATHOL MAC- Drifted out under pressure over the final stages of the event.
BARGARA BOUND- Raced wide for the majority. There was a delay in correct weight to allow Jky Geran the 4th placed runner to view the photo finish image. After viewing the photo image, Jky G Geran was satisfied with the Judges placings, and his mount had finished in 4th placing and correct weight was declared on the numbers as semaphored by the Judge/s.
BULLFIGHTER- Began awkwardly and jumped over a patch of grass at the 800m point. Appr Jky B Baker was reminded of her obligation to ensure that she rides her mount out full the finishing line.
SCION- Began awkwardly after making contact with the near side barrier gate. Failed to improve into the race despite the urgings of the rider to improve. Stewards sought a comment from Trainer Ms. A Sweeney in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance. Ms. Sweeney advised that once the gelding made contact with the gates at the start he failed to improve into the race. Ms Sweeney’s comments were noted by Stewards. A post- race veterinary examination was undertaken and with no abnormalities being detected.
DUSZIO-C TAYLOR- Acting under the provision of LR67(1)- a Reprimand was issued to Trainer Mr N Owen for his late declaration of a rider by the prescribed time. In determining penalty Stewards noted Mr. Owen’s excellent record in relation to this rule. Slow to begin, raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. Post race veterinary examination revealed lameness in near- fore fetlock, Mr Owen was advised that a Veterinary certificate would be required prior to it racing again.
TAYLOR’S RAGE- Began awkwardly and slow out.
RACE 2- DES BURNS MEMORIAL 0-55 HANDICAP 1000M
SMACKEROONY-Began awkwardly, veered out shortly after the start.
QUARTER RED-Under the provision of LR67, Trainer Mr. P Webster was fined the sum of $100 for his failure to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Stewards noted Mr. Webster’s explanation.
STOP THE ROT- Buffeted between runners soon after jumping.
MINXY- Raced keenly during the early stages and then ran on wide for the majority.
RACE 3- GRAHAM’S GALLOP HANDICAP 1000M
DRANG A TANG- Laid in while racing in the early stages for a short distance before being corrected by the rider. Acting under the provision of AR106 Trainer Mr M Currie was fined the sum of $100 for presenting the gelding in the mounting yard with blinkers which do not form part of its gear. In determining penalty stewards considered Mr. Currie’s forthright evidence and history in relation to this rule.
SATAY CHICKEN- Began awkwardly, Raced three- wide with cover mid stages.
DEVIL’S RITE- Trainer Ms D O’Toole was reminded of her obligation under LR67 ensuring she declares a rider by the prescribed time. Slow to begin.
RACE 4- RAAF 117981 RACE BM 58 HANDICAP 1200M
MR WANDJI- Approaching the 600m forced to see off the heels of CEEKAY’S CHOICE.
BRAVE EMMA-Held up entering the home straight before shifting wider approaching the 200m point.
MY TURN ASTERN- Began awkwardly and bumped with BRAVE EMMA shortly after the start. Then raced keenly during the early stages.
RACE 5- BUNTY'S 80TH BREAKAWAY QTIS BM58 HANDICAP 1400M
QUEST OF QUESTS- Acting under the provision of LR67 Stewards issued a $100 fine to Trainer Ms O Cairns for her late declaration of a rider by the prescribed time. In determining penalty stewards noted Ms. Cairns record under this rule.
RAMPANT LION- Bumped heavily on jumping, raced wide for the majority of the event.
DRAGON SONG- Raced wide and raced at the rear of the field before improving into the race from the 400m point.
SWITCH TO GO- Bumped with LETS DANCE JANDY over the final stages of the event.
LET’S DANCE JANDY- Acting under the provision of LR67 stewards issued a $100 to Trainer Mr M Kropp for his late declaration of a rider by the prescribed time. Laid in while racing in the home straight, bumped with SWITCH TO GO over the final stages of the event.
PRINCE OF DIAMONDS- Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping RAMPANT LION shortly after the start. A post-race veterinary examination was undertaken with the gelding showing signs of a slow recovery rate.
LINDA’S MAGIC-Stewards noted Trainer Mr. G Schwenke’s explanation was noted by stewards for his late declaration of a rider by the prescribed time. Slow to begin, raced at the rear of the field during the early stages of the event.
