SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Toowoomba 13/06/26
Stewards followed up on ZAVEGA, which had pulled up with no significant findings after it had been reported by its rider to feel uncomfortable in its action. Co-trainer A. Sweeney reported that the filly had pulled up well and returned to the stable in good order. She believed, even though the filly had raced on heavy tracks in the past, that ZAVEGA may not have handled the soft track conditions on the night. The intention was to now give the filly a brief freshen up before continuing with the current preparation.
GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following overweight:
Race 3: 9 MONTEVECCHIO – M. Hellyer +1kg (55kg)
As rider J. Lloyd was unable to make weight, he was replaced by Jockey A. Keeley as the rider of SUNNY DISPOSITION (Race 3). Rider J. Lloyd was fined $100 pursuant to AR 190(3) for accepting a ride for which he was to be overweight.
RACE 1:LADBROKES PLACE EXTRA BACK RUNNERS UP TO 10TH MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M

SCION Jockey D. Peisley rider of SCION pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 131(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out over the final three (3) strides, which in the opinion of Stewards, had cost him the position of fourth (4th). Jockey D. Peisly’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days, commencing midnight Saturday 27 June 2026, concluding midnight Saturday 4 July 2026 (cleared to resume riding from Sunday 5 July 2026). In assessing penalty, account was taken of his guilty plea, record, margin between 4th and 5th and the QRIC Penalty Guidelines.

OFFSIDE– Bumped at the start. Apprentice A. McColm failed to weigh in. Stewards were satisfied that OFFSIDE had carried the correct weight, so declared OFFSIDE a runner. Stewards inquired into the reasons why apprentice A. McColm failed to weigh in following the running of this race. When questioned in the company of riding coach R. Fradd, A McColm explained that due to his mount suffering a bleeding attack and being eased out of the race, he returned to scale quickly and mistakenly returned to the room to get changed and weigh out for Race 3. When considering the evidence, and after being satisfied that OFFSIDE carried the correct weight, apprentice A. McColm was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 210(1) for failing to weigh in.
