RACE 1:REGIONAL PAYMENT SERVICES 0-55 HANDICAP (900M)
 
LOADED WEAPON – Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
PANIGALE – Shifted ground outwards over the final 50m.
 
HOLY CROWN – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride as a result. Raced wide throughout to avoid the kickback. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.

SUBSIDISE – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Began very awkwardly and lost ground as a result. Raced wide throughout to avoid the kickback.
 
MISSION RIDGE – Raced wide throughout.
 

RACE 2: JELLINBAH MINING AJ & AD OLIVE MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (900m)
 
TAKE THREE – Slow to begin. Inclined to hang outwards when rounding the home turn.
 
ELEGANT VENUS – Raced wide throughout.
 
GOING MY WAY – Raced ungenerously in the early stages and lost ground on the remainder of the field. When questioned regarding the mare’s performance, jockey Chris McIver stated that, although GOING MY WAY began well, after being crossed by other runners in the early stages it resented the heavy kickback and, as a result, failed to travel comfortably thereafter. Trainer Tim Cook advised stewards that it is now his intention to restrict the mare to turf tracks in future. Nevertheless, trainer Cook was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s record for its performance in today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
MILITARY GIRL – Upon being required to be presented in the mounting yard, the mare was presented without the approved crossover nose band. As a crossover nose band could not be obtained and fitted prior to the event, stewards permitted MILITARY GIRL to race without that gear. Trainer Shawn Geritz advised stewards that this was the mare’s first start from his stable and that he was unaware the crossover nose band formed part of its approved gear. Trainer Geritz was subsequently reprimanded under AR206(2).
 
TRICKETT’S JEWEL – Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LITTLE LINDA – Stewards advised connections that a warning would be placed on the filly’s record for its pre-race behaviour, particularly in the mounting yard. Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey Adam Spinks stated that he was unable to muster early speed and, as a result, LITTLE LINDA settled towards the rear of the field. Jockey Spinks added that the filly was then subjected to kickback from runners in advance, which it resented, and this proved detrimental to its performance.
 
SALUKI – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
 
RACE 3: CQ REGIONAL WASTE OPEN PLATE (900M)
 
COBBO – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards, bumping with GITALONG. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. It was revealed post-race that COBBO had lost its off-fore shoe in running.

HAN DYNASTY – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Very slow to begin and dipped soon afterwards, losing ground.
 
HARBOUR GOLD – Bumped with RUBUNKAR at the start.
 
RUBUNKAR – Bumped with HARBOUR GOLD at the start. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE SQUIRE – Raced wide throughout.
 
WRITTLE – Began awkwardly and shifted outwards at the start, carrying GITALONG outwards. Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
GITALONG – Was carried outwards at the start by WRITTLE, and bumped with COBBO.

 
RACE 4: MINUMBRA BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP (1200M)
 
MASALI RAFFA – Overraced in the early stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
HOLY HOLY HOLY – Hampered at the start when by GERRY’S PICK, which had been heavily bumped by another runner. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SPEC OF SILVER – Raced wide throughout.
 
SPEED KING – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.

GERRY’S PICK – Was heavily bumped soon after the start by CHALKLEY, which shifted in, and as a result was carried in, hampering HOLY HOLY HOLY.

HOLLER DASH – Raced wide in the early stages. Upon return to scale, apprentice Nikki Olzard reported that HOLLAR DASH felt awkward in its action over the final stages. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to have a poor post-race recovery.
 
CHALKLEY – Shifted in at the start, heavily bumping GERRY’S PICK, which was carried in, hampering HOLY HOLY HOLY. Overraced for a short distance in the middle stages. Near the 350m, became awkwardly placed at the heels of SPEC OF SILVER and had to be restrained.
 
SUPER SLICK – Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.

 
RACE 5: PCC MINE SERVICES – DOUG OLIVE MEMORIAL DINGO CUP BENCHMARN 50 HANDICAP (1200M)
 
REGAL JUDGEMENT – Slow to begin.
 
CALYX ROSE – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure over the final 50m.
 
REPLACE THE ACE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the gelding’s performance, apprentice Tom Orr stated that, being first up since 1 May, REPLACE THE ACE would derive significant fitness benefit from today’s run. Apprentice Orr added that the gelding is better suited over longer distances.
 
MAKE IT SO – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
BLACK ‘N’ DEADLY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
