GENERAL
Following a report from the Betting Steward, bookmaker O. Bradley will be interviewed in relation to him leaving the track without permission.
Race 1: IVECO QTIS 2YO H’CAP - 1200m
MISHANI HONCHO – Connections advised that with the blinkers on for the first time the horse would be ridden in a forward position if circumstances permit. After being slow to begin the horse raced in a forward position.
COOKIE’S CARIOCA – Began awkwardly.
LEDOYEN – Bumped at the 600m.
OLJA – Bumped heavily at the start.
ANDARI – Began awkwardly. G. Goold reported at scale that his saddle shifted back shortly after the start, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
SAGA OF THE STORM – Bumped at the 600m.
MAYBE EVEN YOU – Briefly tightened for room near the 200m.
Race 2: NOVOTEL BRISBANE AIRPORT CLASS 6 PLATE - 2200m
The start was delayed when PARAGGI required the near fore plate to be refitted at the start.
MORE THAN AHOLIDAY – Steadied near the 600m when disappointed for a run between runners, one of which shifted out.
CHAVEL DELIGHT – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer N. Pullman was advised that she will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for CHAVEL DELIGHT prior to its next start.
PARAGGI – Due to the steady tempo in the middle stages the horse was shifted out and ridden forward down the back straight to find a position outside the leader at the 900m.
Race 3: KING LONG AUSTRALIA QTIS 3YO H’CAP - 1350m
CYCLONE KAN – Pulled hard in the early stages.
YEAGER – Pulled hard in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
FIRE WITHIN – Overraced badly in the early stages.
SARISARA – Became unbalanced when bumped heavily just prior to straightening.
SPUR LE JOUER – Slow to begin. M. Cahill reported that his mount jumped away awkwardly and got further back than he had intended, however ran on reasonably well in the straight.
STEERING – Steadied away from heels near the 1100m.
Race 4: DAVID BOW MEMORIAL CLASS 6 PLATE - 1200m
BUSHY – Made heavy contact with another runner shortly after the start and blundered.
MAHRAJAAN – Made heavy contact with another runner shortly after the start. Raced three wide without cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had sustained cuts to both hind pasterns.
NOOGOORA BURR – Slow to begin.
TRICKY ROCKET – Bounded at the start.
MISS ZIZOU – Bounded at the start.
Following this event the track was upgraded to SOFT 5 retrospective.
Race 5: SHELLEY DALE OHS MODE STAKES 3YO FILLIES PLATE - 1200m
LUSH BELLE – R. McMahon was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in making the first turn, tightening the running of another runner. Laid out under pressure in the straight. R. McMahon was also spoken to about his use of the whip on a horse out of contention.
GOLD BUTTONS – Had to steady to avoid heels approaching the first turn.
RICH REWARD – Stood awkwardly in the barriers, was slow to begin.
Race 6: VOLVO BUS RACING QUEENSLAND SUMMER PROVINCIAL SERIES NMW H’CAP - 1350m
NO WIN NO WINE was a late scratching at 11 am due to the track downgrade.
TINTS – Slow to begin.
JACK’S JET – Lost its off fore plate in running.
NORTHERN ZOOM – G. Cooksley reported that his mount never travelled throughout the race and may not have appreciated the soft track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had been galloped on on the near hind leg.
GREAT INAGUA – Commenced to overrace near the 900m, shifted out from behind the heels of another runner and then travelled wide for the remainder of the race.
Race 7: CHANNEL SEVEN GEORGE MOORE STAKES H’CAP - 1200m
EXCELLANTES – Raced three wide without cover.
SOMEDAY – Inconvenienced slightly shortly after the start.
TIME TO PLUNDER – Slow to begin.
FINISHING CARD – Bumped heavily on straightening.
ARCHITECT – Apprentice L. Tarrant was reprimanded for forcing a run on the home turn, resulting in his mount making contact with another runner.
Race 8: QUEST BREAKFAST CREEK BM90 H’CAP - 1050m
THE WHITE HOPE was a late scratching at 1.05 pm due to the track downgrade.
MISHANI WARRIOR – Failed to muster early speed.
SPORTING PAGE – Checked off heels whilst overracing at the 700m. Buffeted when tightened for room near the 500m.
LENNIE’S CHOICE – Raced three wide without cover.
LA TIKKA ROSA – Fractious in the barriers, slow to begin.
FAITH’N’COURAGE – Had to be restrained off heels passing the 800m. Bled from the nearside nostril. Must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward before being permitted to race again.
