SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
From Doomben 7.2.15 – Race 6: Trainer R. Heathcote reported that SEA RED sustained a sprain to the near fore fetlock.
From Gold Coast 11.2.15 – Race 7: Subsequent to the horse’s disappointing performance, trainer R. Heathcote advised that KINGTANTES was found to have a damaged pelvic muscle in the offside hind leg. Mr Heathcote advised that the horse has since been treated and will now have a short let up.
GENERAL:
J. Lloyd was fined $400 under LR. 55 for having in his possession an unapproved vest.
Race 1: SKYRACING.TV QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1050M
MISHANI DI CAPRIO – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight where it shifted out and brushed another runner.
ALL TROOPS – Jumped awkwardly. Commenced to overrace approaching the 600m, had to be checked to avoid heels and shifted out, bumping heavily with LUJAC. Raced greenly in the early part of the home straight and near the 300m had to be steadied to avoid heels.
TIBROGARGAN MISS – Shifted in and away from another runner near the 50m and brushed the running rail. Briefly tightened for room by another runner close to the line.
LUJAC – Slow to begin. Bumped heavily approaching the 600m.
PRINCE RAHEEB – Rider P. Romeo was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip on a horse out of contention.
Race 2: XXXX GOLD OPEN H’CAP – 2220M
ELMANTOSH – Apprentice M. McGuren reported at scale that in his opinion the horse did not run out the distance today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
NEXT ERA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 3: CHANNEL SEVEN F&M CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1200M
PRETTYFAMOUS – Surrendered the lead near the 700m and then had to be checked when it improved on to heels.
IDLE CHAT – Slow to begin.
JUST COOKING – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Had to be checked off heels when overracing approaching the 600m.
SOME CALL HER WILD – Jumped away awkwardly. Had to be checked from heels near the 650m and shifted out. Held up over the concluding stages.
PUFF’S GIRL – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
Race 4: GIRLS DAY OUT 0MW H’CAP – 1050M
FLORIDA FELLOW – Raced three wide without cover until passing the 600m.
FLIGHT IN SPACE – Bumped at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Apprentice S. Young was severely reprimanded and advised to show greater care for allowing her mount to shift in when not fully clear near the 600m.
SEQUONIS – Had to be checked when tightened for room approaching the 500m.
GLENDARA – Overraced in the early stages and checked when briefly tightened passing the 800m. Had to be checked when tightened for room near the 600m when overracing.
PHOTOBOMB – Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped another runner. Inconvenienced when tightened for room passing the 600m.
STELLARCRAFT – Slow to begin.
LAST LAP – Slow to begin.
QUEEN OF GEORGIA – Jumped away awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed two small abrasions on the outside of the off fore cannon.
Race 5: HAMILTON HOTEL C,G&E CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1200M
The start of this race was delayed when STAY SCHTUM had to be replated.
KNIGHT TEMPLAR – Eased when tightened for room over the concluding stages. Had to be steadied away from heels approaching the winning post.
CAELLUM – Apprentice A. Collett was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift ground over the concluding stages.
FRIENDLY DRAGON – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider J. Byrne was unable to offer any explanation other than that the horse was under heavy pressure from the 600m and did not respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
GOOD JOB BRO – Stewards questioned T. Harrison regarding her riding of GOOD JOB BRO, in particular in the early stages of the race where she settled at the rear of the field, and her riding of the gelding in the straight. Further evidence was taken from trainer T. Sears and managing owner Mr D. Giesemann, after which the inquiry was adjourned until Thursday 19 February to enable stewards to consider the horse’s previous two starts and further betting on the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
STAY SCHTUM – Slow to begin.
URBAN KNIGHT – Raced three wide without cover.
Race 6: GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND 3YO H’CAP – 1200M
AIMEE – Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped heavily with another runner. Raced extremely wide throughout.
TALES OF FASHION – Had to be checked when tightened for room between runners after travelling a short distance. Improved on to the heels of another runner near the 250m and had to alter course in order to improve.
LITTLE FIGHTER – Had to be steadied from heels passing the 600m.
CASTANITA – Jumped very awkwardly.
ASHGROVIAN – Raced extremely wide throughout.
NARDOO – Raced three wide without cover.
TRUBIA – Overraced in the early stages.
THE LYNCHES – Bumped heavily at the start.
Race 7: GALLOPERS $1 MEMBERSHIP OPEN H’CAP – 1350M
FALINO – Overraced in the early stages.
INTO THE RED – Knuckled badly at the start. Overraced in the early stages.
LITTLE BROWN HORSE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
JET STYLE – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running after leaving the 200m.
PICKABEE – Raced three wide without cover.
PRO CONSUL – Became unbalanced when tightened for room between runners passing the 800m.
Race 8: BRISBANE MARRIOTT HOTEL CLASS 6 PLATE – 1640M
HARADA BAY – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
BEWHATYOUWANNABE – Raced three wide without cover. Struck heels and became unbalanced passing the 500m.
BLACK JET – Shifted in abruptly soon after straightening.
L’ENTRECOTE – Overraced in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to a position outside the leader near the 800m. Hampered when tightened for room near the 300m.
RENEWED VITALITY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
EKOFANIDEA – Had to be checked passing the 400m when unable to improve.
