Race 1: Padua Old Boys QTIS 2yo C&G H’cap – 1050m
EF TROOP – Jumped away awkwardly.
KURIL FOX – Jumped away awkwardly.
HOPES ETERNAL – Hung out rounding the home turn.
Race 2: Thompson Bus Services Class 3 Plate – 1200m
MR STRACHAN – Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Jumped away awkwardly. Trainer S. Kendrick advised that following the disappointing performance he would have veterinary tests carried out and report the results to stewards. He added he would also freshen the horse up following today’s race.
JETSONIC – Slow to begin. Shifted out abruptly near the 900m.
BRIGADOON RISE – Taken wider approaching the 900m. Obliged to alter course near the 300m to obtain clear running. Had difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.
DON’T DOUBT MARLEY – Taken wider approaching the 900m.
VALIFIERNO – Jockey B. Stewart could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance, adding that the gelding was under pressure prior to the home turn. Trainer S. Kendrick advised he was of the opinion that the horse did not appreciate the quick back in a 7 days period and would now send the horse for a spell. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 3: Kute N’ Easy Benchmark 90 H’cap – 2040m
CAUTHEN’S POWER – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of
L. Cassidy as the rider of the horse.
MONTEUX – Passing the winning post on the first occasion got its head up when being steadied. Shifted out near the 900m when pulling hard.
ENDLESS DAY – Raced wide in the early stages. Taken wider near the 900m. Apprentice R. Ride was fined $300 for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m, including 2 consecutive strikes.
WAR BABY – Attempted to shift out to improve approaching the 600m but was prevented from doing so by ONE INCH PUNCH, which raced to its outside.
CAPETOWN HUSSEY – Was reluctant to improve between runners after leaving the 300m.
Race 4: Wearco F&M Class 6 H’cap – 1350m
BLACKJACK BELLA – Connections advised the horse would be ridden back in the field from the wide barrier if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Kicked behind the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
KARAKA LASS – Declared a late scratching at 1.56 pm on veterinary advice after it got its leg up on the barrier partition after being loaded. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

FEELIN THE LOVE – Shifted out near the 900m when pulling hard. Overraced in the early stages.

Race 5: The Aitkenvale Family Health Care Centre Open H’cap – 1050m
LOVE AND TIES – Stewards accepted the explanation for the change of rider from R. Williams to M. Cahill.
TIVATROLANI – Declared a late scratching at 2.08 pm on veterinary advice after being injured in its race day stall.
SIR DONALD – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground, and then was bumped by another runner. Raced wide without cover
HARD ROMP – Raced wide in the early stages.
PERFECT DARE – Obliged to steady from heels near the 150m. Raced wide without cover. When asked to explain the performance, jockey R. Fradd stated that the gelding may not have appreciated today’s firm track conditions and being first up for some time. He was of the opinion the PERFECT DARE would take a fitness benefit from today’s race. A post race veterinary examination following its disappointing performance failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
Race 6: Hillross Montefiore & Co Ratings Band 0-70 H’cap – 1640m
BENICO’S PRINCE – Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied.
OVERLAP – Obliged to steady from heels near the 1300m when pulling hard. Raced wide without cover throughout.
ROYAL ATOM – Overraced in the middle stages. Held up approaching the home turn and shifted out near the 300m and bumped another runner.
BOLD AVENUE – Bumped near the 300m when tiring.
KING MAX – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had been galloped on on both hind legs.
Race 7: Padua College Open H’cap – 1640m
PROFILER – Declared a late scratching at 2.47 after being injured in its float en route to the track.
MAGNATUNE – Declared a late scratching at 2.47 pm due to the upgrade of the track.
URBAN KNIGHT – Pulled hard in the middle stages.
Race 8: Mt Alvernia College QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1350m
MAHARNI – Stewards accepted the explanation for the change of rider from M. Pegus to M.
Cahill for the horse.
MISS EXFACTOR – Stewards acceded to an application from trainer T. Gollan for the late scratching of the horse at 2.08 pm on the basis that the track rating had been upgraded to Good 2.
LOOKS LIKE ELVIS – Jumped away awkwardly.
HOSTWIN MERAKI – Raced wide without cover.
Race 9: TH Cock Pty Ltd CG&E Class 6 H’cap – 1350m
SELFIE – Declared a late scratching at 4.33 pm due to the upgrade of the track.
BRETTAN – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 5.31 pm when the gelding was found to be lame in the off foreleg. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

CHAMALU – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, bumping another runner. Had to be steadied away from heels near the 1250m. Bumped by another runner after leaving the 1200m. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
SPRING TYCOON – Bumped shortly after the start.
Jockey R. McMahon, rider of IRON GEORGE – was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in near the 1100m, making contact with CHAMALU, which resulted in CHAMALU being forced to race closer to the rail.
MYSTICAL RENEGADE – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
DECONSTRUCTED – Near the 300m when searching for a run clipped the heels of the tiring ALASSAK and blundered.
REVALDOR – Near the 300m and had to be checked to avoid the heels of a tiring runner.
ALASSAK – Raced wide without cover. A post race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the near hind leg.
